Call for Performers
Classical Revolution PDX is inviting musicians to perform at our 15th annual Bachxing Day celebration on December 26, 2024 at Artichoke Music in SE Portland at 7:00 PM. This year we are planning - and inviting - special tributes to musical genius Peter Schickele, who “discovered” the works of P.D.Q. Bach; and sadly passed away earlier this year.
This will be a concert of "any Bach, any instrumentation, any interpretation!" We will be assembling a fun program featuring small ensembles and soloists who wish to perform their favorite Bach-related pieces. If there is enough interest we may also organize a large ensemble piece to end the program with (see below).
When: Thursday, December 26th, 2024, 7–9 PM
Where: Artichoke Music – 2007 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR
How to participate
This is a community-driven, volunteer concert meant to be fun and relaxed. We want everyone to have a great time whether you come to play, sing, or just listen.
Please send the following information to cre...@gmail.com by Sunday, October 27, 2024:
1. Name, instrument/voice, and piece. Acts should be 5–15 minutes. Artichoke has a baby grand piano and a PA system. Please list any collaborators and their instruments, or tell us if you would like help finding additional musicians. We will also have a thread on our Google Group to help performers find each other.
2. Indicate if you would like to participate in the large ensemble as well (rehearsal attendance will be required, dates/times TBD).
3. A video and/or statement of performance experience.
