On the spur of the moment I decided to go and see Michael Schenker at Rock City, Nottingham (Sat 20th April) and was treated to an excellent show. Not knowing who was in the band it was great to discover a couple of Scorpions in there. I was also surprised to find they played very little current songs - which was good as I don't have them and was unfamiliar with the two or three they did play. They played four (or so) from the early MSG albums, including "Attack of the Mad Axeman" and "Armed and Ready", but it was the songs from two other bands he was involved with that really got the crowd going; these bands being Scorpions and UFO, tracks including "Shoot Shoot", "Doctor Doctor", "Let It Roll", "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Another Piece of Meat". The band even looked genuinely surprised at the loudness the crowd sang along to "Holiday".

Terrific night, and I'd say if you get the chance get yourself along to one of the remaining shows.
