Fantasy Football League 2008/09

Can it really be that time of year when the thud of boot on ball
allows you to pretend you were never bothered about cricket in the
first place? It surely can!

Apologies for having been quite quiet for the last few months but it's
been a busy time with one thing an another. However I did promise
Woody that I'd get the league up and running again, and everyone is
now welcome to come along and join the fun - especially anyone new to
the group since last season.

All you need to do is go along to http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
and
register yourself and a team. If you took part last year the old log-
ins
should still work so you don't need to join again although it will ask
you
to update some info. You'll need to enter a team now, but don't
worry
there's no penalty for changes up until when the season begins on
16th
August.

Once you've got a team set up just go along to the 'Leagues' page and
select
'Join A Private League' using the following code 566031-113231.
You're then
good to go. The full rules about points, transfers, managing the team
etc
are on the site.

Woody and Diva - you were already lurking about waiting for the
league to be re-activated so you two don't need to bother with the
above. As with previous years, I suggest we keep the entry fee at £5.
Once we get to the start of the season I'll contact all
the entrants with my address so that you can send cheques. We'll sort
out
the amounts for the prizes once I get the money in.

Orkstu, I've got your fee already.
Stegbeetle, I've still got your prize-money from last year's league so
let me know what you want me to do with it

For the second year running I have to say please don't join the league
if you're never going to pay up.

remember there were a few more by this time last year....

No mate, I confidently predict we will have more than last year. I
notice we already have some new ones and I know of some more. I also
know that there are some who are planning to enter but have not yet.

Just having a nose at the league and I notice there are now more teams
than last year.

Excellent - I now have the opportunity to actually finish lower than
last year!
