1968 Austin Mini Cooper (Canadian Variant) LHD

This car is a total ground up, off body restoration of a Canadian Mk
II Austin Mini Cooper 998 (now 1380cc engine by Seven Enterprises).
Titled as a 62 and brought over from Canada in 1968 (gray market).
Previous owner had owned the Mini for 16 years and I have his
information. All rusty panels were replaced; nose panel, fenders,
floor pans, and rockers. Shell was media blasted; epoxy primer/sealer
was applied and painted BMC maroon “B” with an Old English White
roof. Wood and Pickett flares extend over the 10x6 revolution rims
with Yokohama A008's. This Mini also comes with the original rims
with new Camac tires, and rims are restored to original condition.
New stainless steel bumpers and grille. A new wiring harness,
headlamps, parking lamps, tail lamps, and heater have been installed.
The engine is a brand new high performance engine built by Seven
Enterprises (http://www.7ent.com/detail.cfm?pageid=295).
It is a 1380cc with a custom Dema Elgin cam. Duration: 264/268,
Valve lift: .330/.361, Valve Lash cold: .014/.016. It has a 44 HIF SU
carb, performance intake manifold, vernier adjustable timing sprocket,
Aldon distributor, new alternator, super cool 2 row radiator and
electric fan, LCB header with Maniflow freeflow exhaust (sounds
awesome). The differential final drive is a 3.1 and has a X pin
differential with 4 planetary gears, Verto clutch, new CV joints and
half shafts. The oil pickup is a high performance center mount to
prevent oil starvation during heavy cornering. The differential is
protected by a Panamerica Rally designed Differential skid plate which
still allows access to the oil drain. The Hydrolastic suspension is
replaced with adjustable Hi Lo's and rally performance modern style
red coil springs (a superb ride). It has Spax adjustable shocks and
polyurethane bushings are installed. The brakes are rebuilt Cooper S
brakes with servo, new rotors, and new Super Minifin rear drums. The
brake lines are all new. The steering rack is a brand new quick-ratio
(2.2 turns), and the steering wheel is a w13” wood Mountney. The seats
are brand new Corbeau Forza's. You really need them to keep you in
place when this car corners. It has a Safety Devices 4 point seat
belts. The boys at Apex Vintage know this car well!

This is an incredible driving and handling car that will out corner
and out run larger and more modern machinery while still getting over
40 MPG. This is a perfect commuter car, or a car you can drive to the
track and take home a trophy...no joke...you will be impressed. I have
over $60,000 in receipts for the restoration of this car. ….and you
cannot duplicate this it for the low selling price of $32,000 that I
am offering it up for. Everything works on this car...and better than
when it was new. We have learned a lot about engineering and cars
since the 60's. I live in Raleigh, NC and have driven this car up to
Northern NJ on the highway with no problems. The differential is
perfect for highway speeds and with the torque and power of the 1380cc
engine, it can easily produces an eye watering tire smoke show. The
3.1 ratio was picked because it is an excellent candidate for Road
Course racing while still producing low down grunt. It cost me $30 in
gas and $20 in tolls to get to NJ. I can not tell you how many people
gave me the thumbs up, took pictures, and smiled. EVERYONE loves this
car...and so will you.
