Mini Introduction

This is Doug Lawson. I want to take a moment to thank Desmond for setting up this group and to offer a brief introduction.
I live in southwest Durham (not too far from Desmond) near the intersection of I-40 and NC-54. I have owned my Mini (a 1964 Morris Cooper-S) for about 9 years. It has been on the road for the past 7 years. It is my weekend car for running errands and for fun. In addition to the Mini we own a 1967 Triumph GT6 that has been in my wife's family since new. We also have a 1972 Spitfire project car that hopefully will be on the road by summer. We also have our more mundane daily drivers, a Honda Civic and Toyota Sienna van. I do all my own British car work but I don't do anything more than change the oil and rotate the tires on our "modern" cars.
I am just short of 50 years old and am the father of two teenage boys. Our family has lived in the Falconbridge neighborhood of Durham for almost 20 years. We are long-time Triangle residents having grown up in Raleigh and lived in Chapel Hill before buying our house in Durham.
Desmond, thanks again for setting this up. If there are rules and procedures for how Google groups work, please provide a link so I can start using this correctly. I look forward to meeting all of you.
