Looking for just one of those twist black sockets for the brake indicator , it takes the no.57 bayonet light bulb push and twist bulb.

If someone out there has one of these...or know who carries them, let me  know. I am in Kingman, Arizona.

Thanks,

Jay

A part number from the “radio” past!  I have a few.   if no one responds.  BUT, you will have to fly me out with them.  I spent a lot of time in the Kingman, Scottsdale  area at GE and Motorola  during the 70’s through the 90’s loved it there.

Could I trade you a dash light socket with 2 pigtails for one with none? Apparently it was when they started using printed circuits to power up the gen, temp, brake...and turn signal indicators.....I believe the sockets with 2 pigtails are used for older models... 1955 and back.....

Do you happen to know what year dash sockets would work in the panel? Whichever ones didn't use the 2 pigtails... .......maybe even any Gm from those years??

Jay,

The press-in type sockets were used on all GMs for the instrument panel lights, before it changed to the PC board around ’58 but they still use them for the ash tray, etc.

The metal one have one wire the ground for it comes from the panel. The plastic type sockets with two pig tails mostly used on the GEN, turn signal, etc. with a separate positive and ground source for it.

You can do a search and still find these mostly under the Chevy e.g. 1955 they have kits with both metal and plastic ones available.

Good luck..!
