LTI is a four-part Saturday academy, which will be held in July at the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.  Members of CAL’s Curriculum Committee have created a program replete with comprehensive lectures, assessments, interactive learning, role-playing, and panel discussions.  All workshops are taught
by leading trainers, speakers and professionals in business, law and other dynamic industries.

LTI’s curriculum includes, among other topics, a discussion entitled “*Use Social Media to Own Your Name: Brand-Building and Professional Self-Awareness*,” during which time the students will create a professional presence online and learn to defend against a negative online reputation.

Part I of LTI also includes a panel entitled “*Reach Back as You Move Forward: The Importance of Giving Back*,” which will feature philanthropic leaders such as Robert Reffkin, founder of New York Needs You, Joshua Mercer, founder ofSwish Dreams, and Chris Rolle, creator of the Hip Hop Project.

Also, Michael Melcher, Partner at Next Step Partners and author ofThe Creative Lawyer, will discuss leadership styles and positioning for success during Part II’s “*Your Leadership Brand: Understanding Your Values, Style, and Professional Identity.*“

During Part III’s “*The Power of Your Emotions: Emotional Intelligence and Professional and Personal Success*,” a panel of legal professionals will discuss how to work and socialize in difficult environments and not take things personally. Panelists include Rossie Turman, Partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Alphonzo A. Grant, Jr., Special Counsel at Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP, and Vivienne LaBorde, Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
