Commanders,

A new Counselor is out, and this one is mostly about the part of a turn nobody enjoys: retyping the same orders you gave last turn, and squinting at money figures to work out what you can actually afford.

Do it again

Most turns repeat themselves. A commander keeps maintaining the army, a spy keeps scouting, a wizard keeps researching. There is now a Do it again button in the actions panel that fills a character's empty action slots with the orders they ran last turn.

  • It never touches an order you have already entered this turn.
  • It skips anything that the character can no longer do, and tells you how many it filled and how many it skipped.
  • The orders come back exactly as you sent them, targets and all, so give them a glance before submitting - a destination you already reached, or a target who has since died, is yours to correct.

Money you can read at a glance

  • Every number in every table now has thousands separators, and negatives are tinted red - no more counting digits to tell 15,989 from 159,890.
  • The Finances tab gained Total orders cost and Forecast Balance columns, both updating the moment you save or clear an order. Forecast Balance is the same bottom line as the Next turn forecast panel: your gold, plus revenue, minus upkeep, minus what your orders commit.
  • On Finances the resource columns now show what selling them would fetch at market prices, marked Food $Leather $ and so on. Both tables were reordered so each one leads with what you actually go there for.

Fixes worth knowing about

  • Next-turn costs were being doubled in the forecast whenever the same orders were read in twice - a turn looked far more expensive than it was. Your orders were always correct and the Judge never charged you twice; only the forecast was wrong. Fixed.
  • The action's cost readout at the top right sometimes showed an ally's total instead of your own. It now always reports your nation.
  • Typing a troop quantity and clicking away could close Counselor outright, losing unsaved work. Fixed.
  • When we add a new landmark to a scenario, older Counselors used to fail to open the turn file at all. An unknown site now just draws as a generic marker and carries on - so a new place on the map is no longer a forced upgrade. The map legend also explains the landmark icons now.

On the website

  • My Games loads quickly again - it had become slow, and could fail to load entirely, if you had a long match history.
  • Every game you have ever played now shows under Past games, not just the ones that made a leaderboard. Older campaigns that had gone missing are back, each with its nation and final turn - and each finished game links to its Chronicle, the turn-by-turn saga of how it went.

Good luck out there.
