----------------------------------------------------------------------
HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 2004--ETV Inc.
(
www.etvhollywood.com) has selected CariNet (
www.cari.net), a San
Diego-based Internet services provider, to be its global command
center as it expands its plan to bring Hollywood classic movies to the
world for both streaming and downloading over the Internet.
ETV recently launched its full-screen streaming broadband channel
of Hollywood classic movies which can be seen at
www.etvhollywood.tv.
On April 20, the company launched a new test site at the National
Broadcasting Association Convention, offering free downloads of three
Hollywood classic movies. According to ETV Inc. CEO Tony Barnard, the
test produced nearly 5,000 downloads in three days.
In May, ETV Inc. will be installing its technology in Shanghai,
China for the purpose of bringing Chinese movies and other content to
the U.S. for broadband delivery here. In turn, ETV will be offering
Hollywood classic movies to China for broadband delivery there.
Arrangements have also been made with Ambassador Koby Koomson of Ghana
to install ETV's technology in Africa for the purpose of bringing
African films and content to the U.S. and bringing Hollywood classic
movies for Internet downloads in Africa.
"Because ETV expects to have its download technology in place on
four continents by August 1," said Mr. Barnard, "the Company needed
the most reliable and experienced host for backbone access around the
globe. CariNet was chosen for its worldwide reach as well as for its
strong technical support capabilities including full server backups,
security audits, and advanced systems administration."
