NEW YORK (Reuter) - The New York Yankees are celebrating
their first World Series title in 18 years and the 23rd
championship in their legendary history.
The Big Apple will stage a ticker-tape parade Tuesday for
the Yankees, who won four straight from the National League
champion Atlanta Braves after losing the first two games of the
series.
A caravan of cars, fire trucks and vehicles will carry
Yankee players and officials through the Canyon of Heroes up
lower Broadway to City Hall. Mayor Rudy Giuliani will preside as
master of ceremonies for the parade and ceremony.
