PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2004--Richard J.
Lunardi has been elected vice president of strategic planning for CNF
Inc. (NYSE:CNF), a $5.1 billion supply chain services company with
businesses in regional trucking, air freight, ocean freight, customs
brokerage, global logistics management and trailer manufacturing.
The announcement was made by Chutta Ratnathicam, chief financial
officer of CNF.
Lunardi had served as director of strategic planning since 1994.
As vice president, he will continue to develop, refine and communicate
corporate objectives and long-term strategy alternatives. He is also
responsible for researching and analyzing opportunities that affect
the long-term competitive position of the corporation and its business
units.
"With his extensive business experience and understanding of the
transportation industry, Rich has played a valuable role in steering
CNF to success over the past 10 years," said Ratnathicam. "This
promotion reflects his significant contributions thus far and our
reliance on him as an important contributor to CNF's future. I am

Lunardi joined the CNF organization in 1988 as a competitor
analyst. He had previously served as a senior consultant for the
management consulting firm Arthur Andersen (now Accenture).
Lunardi is a member of the Conference Board's Council of Strategic
Planning Executives. He is based at CNF's headquarters in Palo Alto,
Calif. and is a native of San Mateo, Calif. He holds a bachelor's
degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
