Sponsorship and Promotional Agreement Signed Through 2005 Season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2004--BostonWorks, Greater
Boston's most comprehensive recruitment services provider, today
announced it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Boston Red
Sox, guaranteeing promotional support, signage and advertising rights
through the 2005 Major League Baseball season. As a result of the
agreement, BostonWorks will be the only employment services vendor
with advertising signage inside the legendary Fenway Park.
"BostonWorks is committed to being the ultimate recruitment
solution for employers in the greater Boston area. We consistently
look for like-minded organizations to work with, organizations that
are committed to being a leader in the Boston area," said Tim Murphy,
general manager of BostonWorks. "There is nothing more 'Boston' than
the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park. Our agreement will ensure that
BostonWorks remains in forefront of all Red Sox Fans, both employers
and job seekers alike."
In addition to signage inside the park, the Boston Red Sox will
grant BostonWorks a license to use the club name, logo and other
identifying features for the purpose of advertising or promoting its
services in Greater Boston. BostonWorks will also receive space in the
official Red Sox magazine and an in-game feature to be displayed on
the centerfield video board at Fenway Park during 30 home games this
season.
BostonWorks will also run several promotions throughout the
season, allowing consumers to participate in contests with free
tickets to select Red Sox games throughout the season including seats
on the fabled Green Monster. Built for the 2003 season, Green Monster
seats are among the most sought-after tickets in baseball and have
proven to be an effective premium to inspire job seekers to visit
BostonWorks in both print and online.
This is the second year that BostonWorks has teamed up with the
Boston Red Sox. In 2003, BostonWorks launched "Summer with the Sox," a
promotion encouraging job seekers to enter a variety of contests to
win Green Monster tickets. Throughout the promotion, more than 4,000
jobseekers signed up to receive Career News, a weekly newsletter from
BostonWorks.
BostonWorks also held the first ever Big Help Job Fair at Fenway
Park in September 2003. More than 50 employers and 8,000 job seekers
attended the fair.
"The Red Sox are excited to once again enter into a sponsorship
agreement with BostonWorks," said Sam Kennedy, vice president, sales
and corporate partnerships at the Boston Red Sox. "Through their
creative promotions and events, BostonWorks enhances the brand of the
Boston Red Sox. Combined with their presence in the Boston market,
BostonWorks is an ideal partner for the Red Sox."
