Four-Part Industry Paper Examines the Earth's Growing Water
Scarcity Crisis and Provides Efficient Irrigation
Management as a Key to the Overall Solution

Rain Bird(R) Corporation, announced today the official release of
a four-part white paper which examines the depletion of the Earth's
supply of usable water and the recommended solution of efficient
irrigation. The paper, titled "Irrigation for a Growing World,"
provides insight into the vital importance of practicing water
conservation and the solutions offered through efficient irrigation.
The paper, available in downloadable form on www.rainbird.com,
underscores Rain Bird's more than seventy-year commitment of promoting
water conservation, and in doing so further solidifies the company's
position as the industry expert on water efficient irrigation.
"This paper is an excellent primer for communicating the
importance of water conservation to all audiences," said Stacy
Sharkey, Corporate Brand Marketing Manager at Rain Bird Corporation.
"It provides ways for all water users from residential consumers and
government municipalities to farmers and groundskeepers of sports
fields and golf courses -- to incorporate water efficient irrigation
practices into their daily routines."
Rain Bird's "Irrigation for a Growing World" industry white paper
is presented in four chapters, beginning with an overview of the
world's water crisis in Chapter One, followed by an examination of
available options to address water scarcity in Chapter Two. Chapter
Three expands on the option of water conservation through efficient
irrigation and stresses the importance of proper irrigation design,
installation and maintenance in addition to the benefits reaped by
using water efficient irrigation products. The paper concludes with
the Fourth Chapter that focuses on incentives, education and awareness
programs used by governments, water agencies and industry leaders to
encourage water conservation at the local level.
"Rain Bird is extremely proud of this paper. It is the culmination
of extensive research and input from experts in the fields of water
and irrigation. The goal is to increase awareness of the need to use
water more efficiently," added Sharkey.
Rain Bird's release of the "Irrigation for a Growing World" white
paper is the most recent example of the company's history of on-going
programs and initiatives designed to create greater awareness for
water conservation. Rain Bird's commitment to environmental
conservation is also seen in its conservation-focused school teaching
curriculums and its sponsorships of several hands-on environmental
learning centers at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona,
CA. In addition, the company participates in the annual Tournament of
Roses(R) Parade to promote this important environmental message.
In addition to English, Rain Bird's "Irrigation for a Growing
World" white paper is available in five alternate languages: Spanish,
French, German, Italian and Portuguese.
