AERT Junction, Texas Facility Resumes Operations

SPRINGDALE, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2004--Advanced
Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:AERTA), a leader in
plastic recycling and wood composite technology, today announced that
the Company has recently re-commenced operation of its second
extrusion line at its Junction, Texas plant. The line had previously
been inoperable due to an accidental fire, which damaged a major
portion of the plant in March 2003. The Texas facility primarily
produces composite decking under the Weyerhaeuser ChoiceDek(R) brand.

The Company operates four manufacturing facilities in Springdale,
Ark., Lowell, Ark. Junction, Texas, and Alexandria, La. AERT converts
reclaimed plastic and wood fiber waste into Weyerhaeuser ChoiceDek(R)
