I created a new trial account for my girfriend so she can have her own
email address and was wondering if we need to connect periodicly
using her login to keep the account active.

Can't talk about Clara, but my FreeUK account doesn't seem to need this
(basically a Clara a/c in disguise). Freeserve however definitely does -
I have to go and turn mine back on every 3 months like clockwork.
Does the Clara website have any links to some way to 're-activate' - if
not, then they probably don't discontinue it (maybe if you never
collected any mail ..).
