The story is told from the perspective of Eva Hammel, a 24 year old girl who comes from money but wants to make it on her own in the world. She chooses to start at the bottom and work her way to the top and gets a job in an advertising agency where she meets the guy who owns the company she works for (and pretty much everything in NYC) Gideon Cross and its just an instant connection between then. Intense sparks fly from the first glance. And things go from there ?

I loved how neither of them were man-whores or virgins before meeting each other. Not that I have a problem with either one. But it was refreshing and realistic that they had both been in a normal amount of relationships for a couple of mid-twenty year olds.

It was a look that screamed SEX. Hard, deep, endless, mind-blowing sex. He stood on the far side of my shower, his feet planted wide, his insanely ripped body flexing rhythmically as he caressed his beautiful cock with long, slow strokes.

I just recently reread this series. I Love, Love, Love it! I had just finished FSOG and was having a really bad book hangover and you had just done a review for the next book. I read both books in 3 days.

This was the first book I read by Sylvia Day, I was hooked from the beginning. Gideon is such the alpha. His past is scary but Eva is somewhat able to tame him. I have read the entire series and will more than likely read again in its entirety. This series should be made into a movie!!!

I re-read this book recently and I still love it so much. I love how emotionally mature they both are and work for their relationship rather than letting the drama drive them away. Hands down one of my favourite Billionaire romances!

When IMDB still had their message boards, people would sometimes post about the Crossfire books since there are similarities between them and Fifty Shades of Grey on the Fifty Shades boards. Before the boards were taken down, someone posted about an article that claimed the TV series (or movie) wasn't going to be made because the filmmakers wanted to tone it down while Sylvia wanted it to stay true to the books for her fans. I haven't heard anything else about this, but if Passionflix is going ahead with Afterburn/Aftershock then maybe they should go ahead and make Crossfire as well.

Lionsgate optioned the rights to the Crossfire saga in 2013 and renewed the option twice. After three years of development, Sylvia declined to option again and she presently retains the adaptation rights. She eventually expects to find the right partner, but for now, the Crossfire series is no longer in development.

I know things in the film and music industry can move slowly but three years just 'developing' without casting and filming of a story that exists seems a long time.

As to similarities between the two stories well of course there are, as there are with a lot of the books of this genre. It can't have been easy to finish the last two books after the full publication of the Fifty Shades books, with the past comments about similarities, and ensuring any idea Sylvia had that ran along the lines of what happened in Fifty were not put into the Crossfire books. I do not like the idea of bdsm (and Christian turning out to be a sadist) so was pleased that despite some early hints that Gideon might have such inclinations, the books didn't turn him into someone who got off on physically punishing the person he loved. Could you see Eva kneeling in submission!!!

I really don't think Sylvia did it intentionally either. I think the first Crossfire book came out shortly after the Fifty Shades books did. Nobody seemed to realize that it takes a while to write a book, have it edited and released so chances of the first Crossfire books already being written before Fifty Shades was released is a huge possibility. I also believe Sylvia when she said she has never read any of the Fifty Shades books and her Crossfire Series came from an idea she got while writing another one of her stories.

There were some tweets between Sylvia and fans over the Christmas period about this - the books are still optioned by the second company. TV series would be best. Passionflix are good but I'm not sure the Crossfire storyline is best filmed the way they do (not a criticism, I've enjoyed the films they have done). Crossfire is a little more fast paced than some of the stories Passionflix have done, with the background stories of both lead characters the filming needs to be sympathetic to that as well as to the sexy side of the story. A film would have been great but with the time of a film so much of the story would have to be cut that it wouldn't work.

I think Netflix would do a great job with the Crossfire series. They did a good job with 365 days; although, I was disappointed with the end. They will certainly keep series steamy and not tone it down.

I hope that my next posts will be helpful. My husband thinks that I am a little OCD. But I need to be able to have thinks make sense, so I have gone through the books & made timelines. They may seem long & I am sorry. I really wanted to be able to give us all a quick reference. Please let me know if I have missed anything. hopefully this will help all of us in our reading or devouring of the series.

Friday-Lunch with Stanton, leaves her phone at his office. Meets Gideon in the elevator. Gideon takes her back to his office. He gets her on the couch, has to stop, has a meeting. Gideon and Eva kiss. Gideon tells Eva he wants her. She agrees to lunch with him on Monday. Cary and Eva go clubbing that night. They end up at a club owned by Gideon. Gideon joins them. Gideon and Eva talk, he knows a lot about her. He owns her apartment building. Gideon tells Eva he wants her. Eva wants more than just s*x, but not necessarily a relationship.

Monday-Eva arrives early at work early to avoid Gideon. Gideon calls to remind her of their lunch date. Gideon comes to her office to take her to his office for lunch. He needs to explain, agrees he f**ked up. Gideon needs control, Eva took that away. But Gideon does want a real relationship with her, an exclusive relationship. After work, they get Eva a new phone. They then go to the gym (one Gideon owns). After the gym, they are going to a hotel (his f**k pad). On the way he gives her a passionate kiss on the street. (for the photographers) They have s*x, Eva realizes this is his f**k pad and she runs. Ends up in a restaurant, Gideon calls and comes and gets her. Gideon says he messed up; he wants to take her to his home. Gideon says that he has never taken anyone else there. They go to his penthouse, a night filled with s*x. Gideon has a nightmare, Eva wakes with him on top of her.

Saturday- Lounging by the pool. Eva realizes that Gideon has employees watching her, babysitting her, with a list. She calls Clancy to have him do the same to Gideon. Eva talks to her dad. Her dad is coming out to visit in two weeks.

Sunday- Eva & Cary getting ready to go home. Eva hears Gideon in the suite. He sends Cary down to gamble. They talk and then move on to other things. Gideon tells Eva he got the capital to start Cross Industries by playing blackjack, not only the money, but the contacts. Fly back to New York.

Saturday/ Sunday- They arrive at a beach house in North Carolina. No phones, no computers and no contact. They go and take a bath together. They spend the weekend talking, loving, reading, laughing and being together.

Monday- Eva & Gideon go to the hospital. Cary was attacked on Friday night. Gideon arranges for Eva to stay at the hospital. Monica arrives, is mad at Eva & Gideon that they could not be gotten a hold of all weekend. Gideon brings Eva her overnight bag & tells her he talked to her boss. Gideon will arrange for Cary to have home care. He gets a call he needs to take, then he leaves.

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday- Goes to work, barely making it through the day, Eva is depressed. Eva cries herself to sleep. Goes to Krav Maga. Forces herself to get up every day and make an effort to make it through the day one minute at a time.
