Driver updates for Windows, along with many devices, such as network adapters, monitors, printers, and video cards, are automatically downloaded and installed through Windows Update. You probably already have the most recent drivers, but if you'd like to manually update or reinstall a driver, here's how:

If your Windows computer cannot connect to a Wi-Fi network during the initial setup (OOBE) when installing Windows 11, please follow the steps below and ensure all relevant drivers are installed during Windows setup.

Hello guys. I bought my new laptop but I have a problem now. I have installed Windows 8 64bit. on my L5Z42EA and now my network controller driver is missing on my device manager and I can't do nothing to install it. I have internet because of LAN connection , but I have no Wifi. Sorry for my bad english. I hope you will help me. Thank you!

I have used Everest to determine that my network adapter is a RealTek RTL8139/810x Fast Ethernet Adapter and installed the appropriate driver. But I can't see any Local Area Connection in my Network Connections.

It should find a RedHat network adapter driver, follow the prompts and you're in business.

** I never bothered to locate the actual subfolder of the driver on the virtio-win-1-1 image, I just let windows do it for me. **

- MB drivers that came with it are on a dvd, and my pc has no dvd drive. I downloaded the most recent drivers from the MSI site for my mb from another pc and copied them over using a usb stick. All installed fine except the network drivers, which give me a "Error ID = 103"; Installation failed.
- Everything else seems to be working correctly.
- Tried uninstalling the Ethernet adapter, updating the bios, nothing works.
- Device Manager and network troubleshooter say there are no drivers installed.
- Ethernet Controller is listed under "other devices" and only WAN Miniport ones show up in Network Adapters.
- Device Manager's search automatically for drivers doesn't find anything, even when pointed directly to the folder with the downloaded drivers.
- When an ethernet cable is plugged in, the lights beside it on the pc light up so it is reading the cable, so my suspicion is that it's just a problem with it not being able to install any drivers.

In order to improve network performance, special paravirtualized network drivers can be installed in Windows guests: to use them, you have to obtain those drivers and then install them on the VM guest os.

The Windows device manager should now detect a new network device. Just point the driver wizard to the CD-ROM containing the drivers. The drivers are not signed, choose install anyway and you are done.

You are correct that they are not listed on that site, but if you look at the models close to it, you'll see the "Intel I217V/LM" as the network adapter for them. Usually Intel bundles most if not all their network drivers in one package (which is awesome), however they only offer windows 7 or above drivers (32-bit). I would recommend trying them anyway. You may need to manually install the driver but I'd be willing to bet they work. Download them here. Opens a new window
