As for my remaining accounts, I have been strategic in how I name them. For example, I have one account that I use primarily for YouTube and not much else so I labeled that one "YouTube". Not the most creative naming structure, but it works. I have labeled the remaining ones "work", "personal", "Picasa", etc. The idea is just to make it as easy as possible for me to scroll through all of my Google logins in 1Password and select the appropriate one with my arrow keys so that my fingers never leave my keyboard.
I hope this workflow helps you as much as it helped me and several people i showed it too - If you want please tweet this article. And also feel free to hit me up on twitter if you have any further questions or suggestions how to improve my workflow: @andreasklinger
I am sending a large number (over 70 within 1-2 minutes) emails with identical subject and content to the same Gmail account from a third-party email server. Address is formatted as '[email protected]', where 'gmailusername' is the same for all messages, and 'person.name' is different for every message.
The email content is a few lines of plain text. The account is used for testing, in production setting these emails will go to different addresses. These 70+ emails to the same address are the only emails that are being sent by the server at the time, i.e. there is not much other activity sending email from the same server to other Gmail addresses.
for the test, i am using 2 attachments, 1 file attachment column each.
I have used the http module to download the files and using array aggregator to try and lump it together and mapping to gmail module under attachments.
Here, you can see how much storage you have used on a progress bar of the free 15 GB that Google offers. Under the bar, you will also see mentioned how much storage space has gone individually towards Gmail, Google Photos, and Google Drive.
Hi! Ive been looking for support on how to add multiple gmail account in thunderbird but I didnt find any. I successfully set up the first gmail account but when i try to add the next gmail account, I encounter the message saying " server already exists" How do i troubleshoot it?
Even if this wasn't a problem in itself, I'd recommend you to give each account (particularly smtp accounts) a distinctive and useful name, so you can correctly marry up the incoming and outgoing settings. If you don't, you can end up with the wrong "from:" address in messages you send, specifically when using gmail.
Here's an image of my smtp settings. The actual email address is one possible way of labelling each of these. But you can see I have four gmail accounts, each with a unique description that makes sense to me, and avoids the "server already exists" message.
I've been looking at Meraki etc for MDM solutions. One thing I have noticed with many some MDM's is that unless you have a gmail account configured on the device a number of the functions don't work, like unlock passcode. Also some MDM's require it so you can download the app (ie Meraki doesn't but others do).
So what I want to know is if I setup a single gmail account, and use that only for access to apps and the functionality, can I use it on multiple devices? Email won't be an issue as we use Lotus Traveler which is separate.
I just want to be sure if multiple users have access to this it isn't going to fail or crash. So far, the only issue I can see would be if they were sharing gmail for email, but no-one will be using it for that.
You can run into problems if a single account is generating too much traffic and it will get locked out. I've never seen it, but I've heard that it can happen with people that get crazy amounts of email and use multiple devices.
I have a Samsung galaxy tab2 , the Samsung galaxy note 2 phone and now the Samsung galaxy gc110 android camera . I do not want everything from my tablet or phone to go on my camera so if I want to down load an app to the camera or to the tablet I do not want it on every device. so do I have to create different gmail accounts or can I select what goes on each on without affecting the others ?
I have a client using regular @gmail.com email accounts. I set up a new computer with Outlook 2016/2019 and connect to his existing account in IMAP mode. I'm familiar with all the basics like turning on IMAP in Gmail (which was already on since he's been using the account already with his old computer and Outlook).
His old laptop did something similar with outgoing email taking a while to initiate sending or for new email to get fetched and they thought a new computer would fix it. The weird thing is that another computer being used in the office has another 2 gmail accounts plus this problematic account and it seems to be able to send and fetch WHILE the sync is in progress. While it's a little slow, it's much more responsive than the main user of the problematic email account. This other computer has Outlook 2016 and not the newer 2019 v1906 that's on the new computer, but the old laptop of problematic user also had Outlook 2016 and had problems.
Most of the time when I have clients trying to use Outlook and Gmail, I just move the client to something else like Office 365 Exchange, but this client doesn't want to use/get their own domain name and wants to stay with the @gmail.com accounts.
I know Outlook and IMAP Gmail isn't the best matched pair. That's why I tell clients to either use the gmail web interface or switch to something else. These aren't options at this point so I'm hoping there is a magic bullet that will make things run more smoothly. In general, with Outlook and Microsoft Exchange via Office 365, once a sync is done, syncs are very low overhead. I don't know why Gmail has so much of a time overhead to sync.
i've recently went through the same woes mapping a gmail, with a ton of subscribed folders filled with mail, to outlook and it took several hours for everything to sync and no mail would send or receive during that time (I actually did it twice for the same user and it took the same amount of time both times i.e. ridiculously long).
i always use this time to complain about using mail clients for webmail to my users. it just doesn't make sense. go to the source for the information instead of waiting for gmail to receive it and everything sync blah blah
Whew! I know that was a lot but I promise you that it makes your email so much nicer to manage.
If you decide to give this a try, let me know what you think in the comments on the blog or email me!
On 4 July 2005 Google announced that Gmail Deutschland would be rebranded as Google Mail. The domain .mw-parser-output .monospacedfont-family:monospace,monospacegmail.com became unavailable in Germany due to trademark disputes, in which cases users must use the domain googlemail.com.[30] From that point forward, visitors originating from an IP address determined to be in Germany would be forwarded to googlemail.com where they could obtain an email address containing the new domain.[31]
The domains are interchangeable so users obliged to use the googlemail.com domain are unable to select addresses already chosen by gmail.com users.[31] Inbound emails sent to either googlemail.com or gmail.com addresses will reach the user.
In February 2007 Google filed legal action against the owners of gmail.pl, a poet group known in full as Grupa Młodych Artystów i Literatów abbreviated GMAiL (literally, "Group of Young Artists and Writers").[35] This lawsuit was lost, but the Web site no longer exists.[36]
On 3 May 2010, Google announced that they would start to phase out the googlemail.com domain in the UK. Existing users would get the option to switch to gmail.com, while new users would be given a gmail.com address by default.[43] This also required Android phone users to perform a factory reset (requiring a back-up to prevent data loss) to restore phone functionality.[44]
Adding a phone number to your Gmail signature in plain text will give you a working click-to-call phone number, but the truth is that there is an easier way to do this and get a much more professional email signature in the process.
I was able to finally get this to work by setting up 2 factor id on my gmail account even though I didn't really want it and then set up the app password and used that. Otherwise I hade done everything ckaas88 mentioned and none of it worked. Now it works.
Thank you so much for getting me on the right track. I have a MF654cdw Color ImageClass. I was getting 802, 806 and 839 errors. I've been trying to get this to work for a week now. I totally forgot about the app generated p/w that is needed with some apps/devices when attempting to use my gmail account. So, for me the first thing that was needed to correct my issue was generating an Google app p/w. From there I followed your steps and it still didn't work. So I ticked the options that best suited my setup. See below.
I could add email forwarders in my Cpanel but in that case I'll not be able to send email whose inboxes haven't been created( for example [email protected]). If I create email account then I'd receive emails in my inbox as well as forwared by the forwarder( to my gmail id).
