Se inició la guerra

Ayer, a las 9:00 p.m., hora de Afganistán, se inició la guerra. Más que
la guerra, el ataque militar contra Afganistán. La palabra guerra
sugiere una contienda entre partes más o menos iguales, en que la más
débil posea al menos un mínimo de recursos técnicos, financieros y
económicos con que defenderse. En este caso, una de las partes no posee
absolutamente nada. Llamémosla, sin embargo, guerra. Así la calificó
quien ordenó las operaciones militares.
Un tipo de guerra verdaderamente sui géneris. Un país entero es
convertido en campo de prueba de las más modernas armas que se hayan
inventado nunca. Los especialistas y expertos que en los centros de
investigación y talleres militares invirtieron decenas de miles de
millones de dólares para crear instrumentos de muerte, seguirán cada
detalle del comportamiento de sus siniestras criaturas.
Sean cuales fueren los pretextos, es una guerra de la tecnología más
sofisticada contra los que no saben leer ni escribir; de 20 millones de
millones de dólares de Producto Interno Bruto cada año contra un país
que produce aproximadamente mil veces menos, que se transformará, por
razones económicas, culturales y religiosas, en una guerra de los
antiguos colonizadores contra los antiguos colonizados, de los más
desarrollados contra los menos desarrollados; de los más ricos contra
los más pobres; de los que se autotitulan civilizados contra los que
ellos consideran atrasados y bárbaros.
No es una guerra contra el terrorismo, que debía y podía ser derrotado
por otros medios verdaderamente eficaces, rápidos y duraderos, que
estaban a nuestro alcance; es una guerra a favor del terrorismo, cuyas
operaciones militares lo harán mucho más complicado y difícil de
erradicar. Un remedio peor que la enfermedad.
Ahora lloverán noticias sobre bombas, misiles, ataques aéreos, avance de
blindados con tropas de etnias aliadas a los invasores, desembarcos
aéreos o avances por tierra de fuerzas elites de los países atacantes;
ciudades tomadas, incluida la capital, en tiempo más o menos breve;
imágenes por televisión de cuanto permita la censura o escape de la
misma. Los combates serán contra los naturales del país y no contra los
terroristas. No hay batallones ni ejércitos de terroristas. Este
constituye un método tenebroso, un concepto siniestro de lucha, un
fantasma.
Los hechos mencionados irán acompañados de triunfalismo, exaltaciones
chovinistas, jactancias, alardes y otras expresiones de arrogancia y de
espíritu de superioridad cultural y racial.
Después vendrá la gran incógnita: ¿cesará la resistencia, desaparecerán
todas las contradicciones o comenzará la verdadera guerra, aquella que
fue definida como larga e interminable? Estamos seguros de que esa es la
mayor interrogante que llevan dentro los que hoy se ufanan de haberse
lanzado a esa guerra aventurera.
Millones de refugiados se esparcen ya por todas partes y las
dificultades mayores están por presentarse. Esperemos los
acontecimientos.
Nuestro pueblo será informado con la máxima objetividad de cada hecho
que vaya sucediendo, con mayor o menor espacio en la prensa, la radio y
la televisión, de acuerdo con su importancia, sin alterar el ritmo de
nuestras actividades y programas normales de información y recreación,
ni mucho menos descuidar los enormes esfuerzos de desarrollo social y
cultural que llevamos adelante, ni la atención cuidadosa y estricta de
todas las actividades productivas y los servicios, lo que hoy es más
importante que nunca, dadas las afectaciones que los acontecimientos que
se desarrollan pueden ocasionar a la ya deteriorada economía mundial, de
cuyos efectos no podría escapar ningún país, aunque no hay otro más
preparado, organizado y consciente que el nuestro para enfrentarse a
cualquier dificultad que sobrevenga. Tampoco dejaremos de prestar
nuestra atención a la defensa, como nunca hemos dejado de hacerlo.
De nuevo veremos en el mundo vacilaciones y pánico. Después, a medida
que se vayan presentando los problemas previsibles, vendrán la toma de
conciencia y el rechazo universal a la guerra que acaba de iniciarse.
Hasta los propios ciudadanos norteamericanos, hoy impactados por la
horrible tragedia, más tarde o más temprano lo comprenderán.
Aun cuando la oposición y condena al terrorismo y a la guerra, que ha
sido la esencia de nuestra posición -hoy compartida por muchas personas
en el mundo-, ha sufrido el esperado golpe del inicio de las operaciones
militares, persistiremos luchando con todas nuestras fuerzas por la
única solución posible: el cese de las operaciones militares y la
erradicación del terrorismo mediante la cooperación y el apoyo de todos
los países, el repudio y la condena unánimes de la opinión pública
internacional, bajo la dirección de la Organización de Naciones Unidas.

War is started
Yesterday, at 9.00 p.m. Afghanistan hour , war was started . More than a
war , it is a military attack against Afghanistan. The word war suggests
a contingency between the two parts more or less equal, in which the
weaker part owns at least the minimum technical, financial and economic
resources with which to defend itself. In this case , one of the parts

field of the most modern weapons ever invented . Specialists and experts

No matter which pretext they use, it is a war of the most sophisticated
technology , against those who do not know to read or write, of more
than 20 millions dollars of Gross Production every year against a
country that produces approximately thousands times less , that it will
transform by economic, cultural and religious reasons , in a war of the
most ancient colonizers against the ancient colonized, of the more
developed against the less developed, of the richer against the poorer,

tragedy , later or earlier will understand.
Still when there is opposition and condemn to terrorism and to war ,
that has been the essence of our position - today shared by many peoples
in the world- have suffered the waited strike of the beginning of the
military operations , we will persist struggling with all our forces for
the possible unique solution , the end of military operations and the
eradication of terrorism by means of cooperation and support of all
countries , repudiation and unanimous condemn of the international
public opinion , under the direction of United Nations Organization.
