A young woman working at homeless shelter for which I work
says her landlady is a good person and loves her and her boyfriend.
Yet, to get out of her lease, this young woman told her landlady
that her boyfriend had lost his job.
Interested in their apartment,
I asked her to recommend me to her landlady.
She said she would do it, but felt conscience-bound
to tell her landlady that I might vote for Bush Jr,
because I have a problem with Gore's lies.
This same young woman speaks for Green Peace.
What have you become, liberal people of America?
You complain of Cheney's connections to the oil industry
and ask him whether he's divesting for his proposed position,
while ignoring that Al Gore never divested from Occidental Petrolium.
Occidental Petrolium became big oil through the Soviet Union.
Is it that anything called left, such as Stalin's travesty of Communism,
is by definition liberal, despite the facts.
Maybe the Bushes' connections with big oil can fix our ungreening,
if given the brief chance we gave Bush Sr. to defeat Stalinism.
