Guide lines for submitting News to ainfos.

These are some guidelines for people who send
news to a-infos. They will be applied flexibly by
the org collective members who do the
screening of posts.

All received text will be distributed on a-infos raw.
posts which we consider as fulfilling the guidelines
will also be distributed to our other (more heavily
subscribed) lists.

We encourage you to submit news, reports and
articles, but please keep it consistent with the
purpose of the feed, to distribute news 'about and of
interest to anarchists'. This does not mean you have to
be an anarchist to submit news but we do expect it to be
consistent with the guidelines below.

1) We welcome views which do not contradict a
basic anarchist position so, we don't carry material
promoting discrimination and suppression of people
(i.e. racists - Nazi, Zionists, etc.) sexists (male
chauvinist, patriarchical, homophobic, etc.).
We are unlikely to carry material which advocates
electoral politics nor posts advocating voting for
state agencies and apparatus or building parties.
We will refrain from distribution posts supporting
authoritarian 'revolutionary' politics and any text
that serve the propaganda of vangardists, leninist
or any state capitalist proponents.

We may distribute posts of the above contents
when we believe the circulating of such material
will damage the cause of those who produced them.

We will not distribute posts that advocate any
sort of national supremacy. We may distribute
posts from nationalist organisations in struggle
against oppression if these organisations make
no claims of national superiority or ethnic
chauvinism, and the posts are "of interest to
anarchists".

2) We are trying to provide a balanced anarchist news
distribution. Thus we are unlikely to accept more
then 14 posts from any one source or 20 posts
about any one topic in a given week. Exceptions will be
made for news of particular importance.
One exception to this is articles from printed anarchist
publications. All the articles from any current issue may
be sent at once and the approvers will then send them to
the feed at a rate of two or three per day.

3) We prefer news written by anarchists or other people
directly involved in the struggle against all of the various,
interrelated forms of dominance, exploitation and
suppression (such as the system of class society,
capitalism, suppression and discrimination according to
gender, race, nationality, citizenship, sexual affiliation, age
etc.).

Most of all we prefer news that refers to the interrelation of
the various struggles rather than articles which only criticize
certain oppressions while ignoring or even supporting
others.

4) We ask contributors to format their mail for
ainfos according to the following:

a) Give your mail a clear subject line starting
with the correct language code (such as (en) for
English, (ca) for Castillian, (it) for italian - see
FAQ for a complete list).

b) Start your mail with a paragraph summarizing
what it is about, this may be the first paragraph
of the article but, if you have at the start
of that post contact information, you must move
it to some point after the first paragraph.

c) Check that the item you're sending has not already
been sent by someone else

(incorrectly formatted mail will take longer
to be approved and may not be approved at
all when we are busy.)

We will place comrades who submit mail that
consistently fulfills the four points above
in a trusted submitters list for as long as they
abide by the guide lines. This means that mail
sent from these comrades will be automatically
approved and distributed immediately.
We recommend frequent contributors to subscribe
to ainfos-write - a mailing list for people who
write news for or submit news to a-infos.
