Below are announcements that I made at last night's SoC assembly.

Announcements:
1. Common Fund – pledges for next year must be completed by December 31st. The Common Fund includes a two-step process: (1) pledging each year the amount and (2) paying the amount (e.g., via ParishPay.) Step 1 must be completed each year. Step 2 must be adjusted to meet the pledge of Step 1. See previously circulated emails and the top of the page at http://us.clonline.org/default.asp?id=743.
2. December 18th, next community day will be a Christmas event tracing salvation history through the mosaics at the St. John Paul II Shrine, details to follow in the coming weeks but likely will begin at 7 pm.
3. We have begun a SoC which we will continue with through the New York Encounter (mid-January). The book is Christ, God’s Companionship with Man. The calendar for the work of the SoC prepared by Fr. Jose is available at http://us.clonline.org/default.asp?id=743.
4. New York Encounter, January 16-18, 2016. See http://www.newyorkencounter.org/ and a previously circulated email regarding the experience of volunteering.
5. Workcenter event entitled “Ideal Work or Working for an Ideal” on Thursday, December 10th at 7:30 pm at Christ the King.
6. Christmas posters – pre-order this year for $5; Amy has sent around a Google form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ETJdhQIrthJnhnK-zokZdMsRCAZGnUSds5H6JmxhkF4/viewform) which needs to be completed. Deadline for orders is Monday, December 7th.
7. Fr. Carrón participated in a Conference at the Center for Ethics and Culture at the University of Notre Dame a couple of weeks ago. A transcript of his closing remarks at that Conference, entitled "For Freedom Set Free", are available on the Traces website. You also can view a video of his presentation if you wish.
