Dear Friends,

 

I wanted to inform you of an important event that took place last week in La Thuile, Italy.  At the meeting of the Diakonia of the Fraternity of Communion and Liberation, Fr. Carrón appointed Fr. Jose Medina the Responsible for the Fraternity of CL in North America (the US and Canada).  

 

First of all, I must say I am grateful and excited to be able to work closely with Fr. Jose for the good of the entire nation, as I have for the good of GS over the last several years.  I am sure that Fr. Jose will be a great help to all of you as he gets to know you better in the next few years as well as being sure he will make a wonderful representative to the institutional Church here in the US.

 

Of course, I have personally thanked (as has Fr. Carrón) Monsignor Lorenzo Albacete for the many years he held such position.  Quite a number of you belong to the Movement because of Monsignor's tireless travels, appearances and writings and many more have been helped by his wisdom, humor and charity.  None of us can ever adequately thank Monsignor for the gift he made of himself to Fr. Giussani and his charism; God alone will be able to reward him for all the good that has poured into our lives here in the United States because of his "yes."  Please keep him in your prayers as he continues his journey with us in the charism.
