FROM KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE TOM DEJULIO:
Fordham University Circle K in the New York District which is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club at Fordham University will begin celebrating its 40th charter anniversary year in 2009. Unfortunately, Fordham representatives cannot attend this year's Denver convention. However, because Fordham Circle K's very first
service project in 1970 was a blood drive, to show solidarity with CKI
and to help provide an incentive for reaching this year's blood drive
goal, the club will make a $1,000 donation to the Tomorrow Fund if 87
pints of blood are donated. The reason we want to do this? The first
blood drive of Fordham Circle K collected, coincidentally, 87 pints in
1970. We hope this helps make the convention service project successful.

Attention CKI,
This year the Second Annual Circle K International Blood Drive will
be hosted on August 6th, 2008 from 1:00pm to 6:30pm at the
Denver International Convention. This year we are attempting to DOUBLE
in size from last year to a total of 87 donor slots available!
Bonfils Blood Center, which is this year's blood donation service,will
be providing all of the staff and supplies needed to run this operation.
Attached to this email is all the information you need to set up your
donation appointment at this year's International Convention. Register
online today!
Thousands of visitors will converge in Colorado in August for
the Democratic National Convention, and greater volumes of people can
lead to a greater need for blood. This is an excellent way to give back
to the community hosting our annual convention. Have a Heart...Donate
Blood!
As a thank you for your life-saving gift all donors who give
blood between July 13 and September 6 will receive a Bonfils baseball
hat.
By making two blood donations between May 18 and September 6 (you
can donate whole blood every 56 days), you will not only receive your
free gifts but will be automatically entered into a drawing to win
a three-night trip for two adults to Ibero star Grand Hotel Paraiso in
Riviera Maya, Mexico, generously provided by Apple Vacations. CKI is also
planning on giving its own complimentary gift to all donors.
