Circle K International is offering one temporary summer position within the convention production team to a qualified CKI member who wants to assist in the preparation and production of selected aspects of the 2010 Circle K International Convention.
During the four-week program, participants will assist in pre-convention preparations in Indianapolis, Indiana, and in the actual set up and production of the Circle K Convention in St. Louis, Missouri.
Eligibility
The convention production team program is open to any Circle K member
active during the 2009-10 academic year.
Program dates
Arrive in Indianapolis on Sunday, July 11. Return home on Tuesday,
August 10, after the convention. Candidates unable to meet the date
commitments should not apply.
Scope of responsibilities
Governance assistance
• Work with the staff to coordinate
the elections process.
• Develop caucus and candidate schedules.
• Review and edit House of Delegates scripts and slides.
• Prepare materials and set up credential registration.
General
sessions assistance
• Select and prepare music for sessions.
• Assist with stage and seating set up for sessions.
• Develop Board schedules.
• Assist with coordination and planning of all rehearsals and sessions.
• Review and edit all session scripts and slides.
Contests,
awards and workshops assistance
• Assist with coordination and planning of all workshops.
• Prepare and distribute workshop materials.
• Coordinate logistics for workshop speakers.
• Assist with coordination and planning of contests and awards.
• Develop and assist with contest and award judges’ schedule.
Additional
assistance
• Other duties as assigned by the CKI director, program specialist or
convention staff members.
Compensation
Circle
K International will provide travel to and from Indianapolis and St.
Louis. All lodging costs during the duration of the program will be paid
and a daily per diem of US$50 will be provided for the work days in
Indianapolis and St. Louis (minus provided meals during program and/or
convention). Reimbursement for any additional expenses must be
pre-approved.
Additional expectations
Participants will be expected to abide by the Circle K Code of Conduct.
Any violation of these rules or any local, state, or federal law will
cause the position to be terminated. As a temporary employee of Kiwanis
International, all office policies must be adhered to or immediate
dismissal is imminent.
Application process
Selection will be made through an application process. A résumé and
cover letter must be received by Friday, April 30.
Your cover

• General information (name, address, college/university, major/minor,
anticipated graduation date, etc.)
• Circle K experience (club/district offices held, district or
international conventions attended, leadership experience, etc.)
• Contact information for at least three references (one Circle
K/Kiwanis reference, one professional reference, one personal reference)
• What do you want to gain from participation in the convention
production team?
• What special skills can you offer?
Selection will be made in mid May. Telephone interviews may be used for candidate selection. Notification will take place by June 1, 2010.
