Hello Sub-Region C!

I would like to take an opportunity to introduce myself to you and
bring you up to speed with happenings at the International level of
Circle K.

I am beginning my first year as a Graduate Student in the program of
Public Administration at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
I received my Bachelors this past May in Information Systems
Technology. This will mark the beginning of my eighth year in the
Kiwanis Family. I have served as a club officer and district officer
throughout Key Club and Circle K. As far as my future plans after
college, I would like to go into the federal level of law enforcement
with a specification in Cyber/Computer Crimes. I am looking forward
to a fun filled year in Circle K as your Sub-Region C Representative,
and making sure that I keep everyone up to date with the happenings at
the International level.

Some current happenings at the international level include:

The International Board is now in the process of accepting
applications for 4 committees. They are Service, LSSP Ad-Hoc, K-
Family Relations and Membership & Marketing. In the files section of
this Google Group you will find the applications and a quick overview
of the committees. All applications are due September 2nd! Please
encourage members to apply, and yes, you can apply for more than one
committee if you feel inclined to do so.

There are currently lots of questions about the new CKI dues
structure. Here is the general synopsis of Club Fees.
All 2 year institutions (regardless of size)-- $450
4 year colleges w/ less than 1,000 people-- $450
4 year colleges w/ more than 1,000 people-- $600

I will be using this Google Group to share important information with
you, along with a bi-monthly newsletter to update you on events and
information from all of the districts within the Sub-Region. I would
also like to set out a challenge to everyone that receives this group
discussion. In an effort to build the number of people that will
receive these postings, I would like each District Governor to invite
all of their District Board Members, all of the District Lieutenant
Governors to invite all of the Club Presidents in their divisions, and
all of the Club Presidents to invite all of their members. This way
we can make sure that all members of the Sub-Region are up to speed on
the current happenings in Circle K.
