I am pleased to announce that Chris Martz has accepted the position of
CKI Director and will begin work at the office on Wednesday, January
6. Here is a brief bio on Chris:
Chris Martz comes to Circle K International after seven years of
serving as the director of communications and administrative manager
at Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity. Martz served as the
editor of Fraternity’s magazine as well as the gatekeeper of all
Central Office communication vehicles. He worked on various projects
in all aspects of Fraternity programming, branding, and marketing.
Martz also oversaw the daily operations of the six member services
support staff.
Chris is a former member of the Kiwanis International staff where he
served as the executive editor of the magazines for Circle K, Builders
Club and K-Kids as well as a contributing writer for the Kiwanis
magazine.
A 1994 graduate of Ball State University, Martz spent seven years
teaching high school journalism and advising student newspapers and
yearbooks. All of the student publications Martz advised won local,
state, and national awards including a newspaper Pacemaker, the
highest award given by the National High School Press Association. He
also taught Indiana's high school journalist of the year.
Community service is a passion for Martz, and his own Kiwanis club
experience has only enhanced that. A Kiwanian since 2004, Martz is a
past president of the Kiwanis Club of North Central Indianapolis. He
current serves as treasurer for the club.
Martz enjoys running. He has completed numerous half-marathons and
three full marathons in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Chicago. He is
originally from Huntington, Indiana, and has resided in Indianapolis
since 1995.
