I'm from New Community Chevra Kadisha in Pittsburgh. I'll repeat here a question I posed for some of the folks in NCCK and my cohort (so skip if you've seen or already responded).

What are different approaches used for educating Jews in your community about the existence of your chevra and the possibility of receiving a taharah? Is it something that has been integrated into end-of-life planning?

Dear David (warm greetings to the NCCK!) and all,

Here's my "Torah on one foot" of sacred fellowship outreach, as 7 Adar approaches: Seven Steps to Sacred Fellowship

As you'll see, I'm a strong proponent of leading with sh'mirah.

With many blessings for Shabbat Shalom and beyond,

Regina
