Is there a store of ckb-next profiles anywhere?  I'd like to download and import some but I haven't been able to find any ckb-next profiles, just Corsair CUE profiles.

Thanks

Not at the moment, unfortunately.
It's been on the list of things to do for quite some time, but we never got around to it.

It will definitely happen at some point though.

I'd be interested in this as well. Has there been any updates about this since the original post?

Hello,

I just joined the list a few weeks ago and I've been digging around the code and while I am _kinda_ following it, I just can't find the inspiration for a nifty animation...

https://frickler24.github.io/ckb-next/master/all/html/ckb-wave_2main_8c.html

Has someone successfully had external events trigger an animation (like if you get fragged forex)?

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Eric

Unfortunately no. We have made some attempts to make a common repository with user shared profiles, however there are many risks and too much time and effort involved, so we have not done anything about it yet.

You can use the pipe animation to send colour data manually, or call ckb-next --mode and --profile to switch to an existing profile/mode combination

You couldn't post a tarball somewhere with the express understanding that it's at our own risk? I find that looking at at other examples of what can be done and is out there is how I learn...

I am happy to share my own profiles, and I do when people ask on IRC, but if I start including others' profiles I'll need to start dealing with licensing, verification, and making sure none of them do anything bad or have anything malicious/illegal in them. And that's where the problem starts.

If I am going to be the one uploading others' profiles, I'll also be liable for them. I don't think it's as easy as "use them at your own risk". The issue gets worse if they are hosted in ckb-next.info.

Initially I wanted to have them on github, but it really can't scale.

If we use external hosts, then there are risks of files being taken down and disappearing completely from whatever host the user decided to use, which is even more of a maintenance burden.
