Conference Announcements

Please note the following reminders for the local churches:

1. Prayer Vigil and Day of Prayer for the Nation – July 31 and August 2, 2014

At the recent Mid-year meetings of the Jamaica Union Conference it was voted to join the Government of Jamaica in celebration of Emancipation by way of a Prayer Vigil. The format of the programme should be determined by each Conference and local Church. See the attached letter and material for more information. Also kindly note that our Annual Day of Prayer for the Nation follows right after, and we look forward to each Church facilitating this special worship experience.

2. Children's Ministries Day - August 2, 2014

Kindly see the sermon attached for Children’s Ministry Day to be held August 2, 2014.

3. Adventist Youth and Pathfinder Day - August 9, 2014

Kindly see the sermon attached for Adventist Youth and Pathfinder Day to be held August 9, 2014.

4. Summer Camp – August 4-11, 2014

Our Annual Summer Senior Camp (age 17 and over) will be from August 4-11, 2014 at Camp Verley, Spring Gardens, St. Catherine. The camp caters to both young people of our church and community from the parishes of Manchester, Clarendon and St. Catherine. Please complete the attached application form and return it with the fee to the Conference Office on or before Monday, July 28, 2014 so that the necessary preparations can be made. Registration begins at 3:30 pm as opposed to the previously announced as 12 O’ clock the cost is ($4,000.00).

  • Colon Cleansing and Detox: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 - 5 p.m. by appointment only

  • Child Welfare (Immunization): Wednesdays & Thursday 8.30 - 10.30

  • Counselling: Wednesdays by appointment

  • Immunization for Adults: as is necessary are available as is necessary

• I Will Go – George Gordon 2^nd Album Launch – August 2, 2014: Come and support our very own George Gordon as he launches his 2^nd album with a grand concert. Also note:

• JAMU Health Summit, August 14-17, 2014: Attached is a document providing information on the up-coming JAMU Health Summit, August 14-17, 2014. Kindly share the information with all interested persons—noting that:

  • Thursday, August 14, 2014—will be for Field& Institutions Leaders and Health Ministries Directors at the Union Office

  • Friday (Vespers) & Sabbath, August 15-16, 2014—will be for the general membership and all interested persons at the Mandeville Church

  • Sunday, August 17, 2014—for Adventist Health Professionals and others (Venue: East Jamaica Conference) –Registration Fee $2,000/person— Registration Form attached. Contact the EJC Health Ministries Dept to register.
