4. IICM Training, St. Catherine – May 18, 2014
International Institute of Christian Ministries Training for St. Catherine will be on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Family of God SDA Church. All participants are to be in attendance.
5. Elders’ Appreciation Day – May 24, 2014
Sabbath, May 24, 2014 will be celebrated across the Inter-American Division as Elders’ Appreciation Day. In the parish of Manchester all elders are asked to be at Mandeville SDA Church at 3pm for a special event. For more information contact Pastor Jeremiah Burrell.
6. Special Day of Prayer for Nigeria – May 24, 2014
Central Jamaica Conference will be hosting a special Day of Prayer on Sabbath, May 24, 2014, from 9:00 AM-12:00 noon at the CJC Office. Prayer Coordinators and Prayer Group Members who are able to attend are invited to join us in this programme as we offer special prayer for the girls, young women and families in Nigeria who are victims of abduction.
7. Camp Officers’ Training – Rescheduled – May 25, 2014
The Camp Officers’ Training has been re-scheduled for Sunday, May 25th at Willowdene Group of Schools beginning at 9a.m. We extend a special invitation to willing, committed and dedicated teachers, students over age 19, parents and guardians who are desirous of volunteering two or three weeks out of their summer vacation to assist us at camp. We are seeking persons with special skills to assist us in such areas as craft, life and technical skills and character development. All persons desirous of serving must submit a recommendation from their pastor and must also complete the volunteer form. All Officers who plan to serve are asked to be in attendance; and take a long with you two character references.
8. Men’s Convention 2014
All men plan to be at Men’s Convention 2014, June 21-22. See the attached for more information.
9. Summer Camp – July 14 – August 11, 2014
Our Annual Summer Camp this year will be from July 14 - August 11, 2014 at Camp Verley, Spring Gardens, St. Catherine. The camp caters to both young people of our church and community from the parishes of Manchester, Clarendon and St. Catherine. Dates for each camp are as follows:
1. Teen Camp (age 13-16) July 14 - 21, 2014
2. Junior Camp (age 7–12 years) July 14 - 21, 2014
3. Senior Camp (age 17 & Over) August 4 - 11, 2014
Please complete the attached application form and return it with the fee to the Conference Office on or before Monday, June, 23, 2014 so that the necessary preparations can be made. Registration begins at 12 O’ clock for each camp and the cost is ($4,000.00). Please note that the camp dates have been re-arranged due to Conference Session on July 23 - 24, 2014 and the Guatemala Trip on July 29 – August 2, 2014. Despite all these changes we anticipate a wonderful camp experience.

· Central St. Catherine AY Federation Adventurer Awards and Fairs Day- May 18, 2014: Central St. Catherine Federation of Adventist Youth will be hosting its annual Adventurer Awards and Fair on May 18, 2014, commencing at 9 a.m. -5 p.m. at the Wollowdene Group of Schools.
Interested clubs are asked to submitted your names to the Youth Department, by Thursday, May 15, 2014.
· NCU and JAMU GEMS Launch – June 14, 2014: The Women’s Ministries Department of Northern Caribbean University in collaboration with Jamaica Union Conference, as part of their celebration of Women’s Ministries Emphasis Day, on June 14, 2014, will launch NCU GEMS, (Girls of Excellence, Morals and Standards), a mentorship initiative for our girls between the age of 12-19. See the attached letter for details.
· H. S. Walters Health and Outreach Centre – The following services are available at the H. S. Walters Health and Outreach Centre:
o Dental: Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 2-5 p.m. Wednesdays 1-4 p.m.
o Medical: Mondays to Thursdays 10 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
o Colon Cleansing and Detox: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 - 5 p.m. by appointment only
o Child Welfare (Immunization): Wednesdays & Thursday 8.30 - 10.30
o Counselling: Wednesdays by appointment
o Immunization for Adults: as is necessary are available as is necessary

· Notice of St. Catherine PAC AGM – May 11, 2014:- The Annual General Meeting of the St Catherine Parish Action Committee will be held on Sunday May 11, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in the Boardroom of the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists. Pastors are reminded that each District should have two (2) delegates present. Individuals who are interested in serving as part of the St. Catherine Parish Action Committee are especially asked to attend as we seek to elect willing and available servants for the Master. · ASI Young Professional and Business Persons Breakfast - May 18, 2014: There will be an ASI meeting for young professionals and business persons at the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists, 56 Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town on Sunday May 18th at 8:30 am. This will be a breakfast meeting. All are invited.
· Labour Day – May 23, 2014: As you are all aware, Labour Day will be on Friday, May 23, 2014. This is another grand opportunity to impact the communities through our acts of kindness. With that in mind we are focusing on the theme: “Making our Communities a Place to Live”. We are therefore suggesting that each district identify a project in the community that will leave a lasting impact on the residents. Remember, we are to let our lights shine and by working with the community we are reaching them and sharing Christ with them.
