Dear Cultural Japan
I am currently working on an exhibition with St Andrew's University and V&A Museum Dundee, showcasing the James Valentine collection of photographs and postcards from 19th & 20th century that the university hold in their archive. Whilst combing through the amazing online collection the Cultural Japan virtual museum has been a really great tool to see how these images look in a possible museum scenario. The exhibition at V&A will include approximately 70 physical assets from the collection and I am editing together a short video that will include a few hundred more digital versions of these assets as a way to make viewers aware of the vast range of material in the collection. Using your virtual museum tool it has been amazing to see these very small photos and postcards blown up to such a large scale and I would love to screen grab some video footage moving through the virtual museum in order to include in the video within in the 'real' exhibition. It would be a short clip of approx 10 seconds and I would of course give credit to Cultural Japan for the usage. The documentary video will be screened only in V&A Museum Dundee for the 8 month period of the exhibition.  Through the exhibition I already have permission to use all the images I include from the university.
Thanks again for producing such a useful and creative tool.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Rob Kennedy

Dear Rob Kennedy,

Thank you very much for your message.

You are more than welcome to use the Self Museum virtual exhibition
system for your project. No problem to screen the video clip that you
mentioned.

We are very pleased to hear of your wonderful applications of our
system. Please let us know if you have a plan to put the application
(showing photos and postcards from the collection) online.

We hope your exhibition will be a great success and that the Self
Museum will be of help.

Best regards,
Masahide Kanzaki, on behalf of Cultural Japan

Dear Masahide Kanzaki
Please find below links to the exhibition
for which you kindly allowed use of the screen grabbed footage of the Self Museum.
There are two slightly different versions of the video one is landscape and the other portrait in order to use both portrait and landscape postcards in the edit.
I hope you enjoy.
If you would like any further information then please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks you again
Rob
