I woke up with a beautiuful dream of shirdi saibaba as which guided me to create websites for helping students learn various arts including cinematography. I never wanted to involve myself with film-making again so avoided it but then it was this dream as if i am shooting a movie made me realize i must work on websites to help students learn various arts .

Then Amma asked me to recite below mantra she likes for 108 times. Its so beautiful which says Lakshmi Narasimhar is Mother, Father, Friend and savoir .When we say this mantra 108 times surely Lakshmi narasimhar comes immediately to us friends..Amma believes in this

There is no absolute diktat that specifies that the Gāyatrī mantras of various deities should have the customary 24 letters. If we see the regular Gāyatrī mantra, it has 23 characters only, but based on the svara and the pronunciation of the word "vareṇyam", it is counted as 4 letters instead of 3. Such considerations could also be relevant for other deity Gāyatrī mantras or the chandas itself could be "Nicṛd Gāyatrī" meaning that it is close to the 24 letter specification but not exact. Also, you may notice that there are single letter mantras that have the Chandas as Gāyatrī, which makes no sense when the 24 or close to 24 rule is applied. There is an entire class of Gāyatrī and various other chandas specified in some scriptures that deal with the chandas aspect and I am NOT an expert to clearly answer these questions, as I have not studied those scriptures nor do I have any knowledge or training in music, svara and related subjects, where chandas is primarily applied.

Long ago I stumbled across the Tapaneeya Upanishad when looking for the source of Mantra Raja and there I came across the Yajur Mahalakshmi mantra for the first time. Good to see this article where the greatness of this mantra has been mentioned. Thanks for this. FYI - I was referring to the following link where the yajur gayatri mantra is slightly different and ends with "Mahalakshmi Prachodayaat" making it a 24 syllable mantra including OM . _881_X/page/n51/mode/2up. I'm curious to know which version is mentioned in the original text of this Upanishad.
