Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras is pleased to announce an Annual Lecture Series on Safety and Conservation of Heritage Structures on 18th April 2013, commemorating World Heritage Day. 

 

The First Distinguished Lecture will be delivered by Prof. R.N. Iyengar, currently Director, Centre for Disaster Mitigation, Jain University, Bangalore.  Prof. Iyengar was formerly Raja Ramanna Fellow at IISc Bangalore, Director of CBRI Roorkee (1994-2000), and is Fellow of INAE and INS.

 

Mr. S. Muthaiah, eminent journalist and historian has kindly consented to preside over the event.

 

The programme is as follows:

 

Title of distinguished lecture:   “Heritage Structures Narrate History of Indian Engineering”
