Hi all,

Hope all of you are doing good. This particular mail was to be sent soon after spree but obviously we could not discuss this before hand coz of the sudden activity in the insti :P

In light of the recent events, it becomes all the more important (and convenient) to maintain Alumni - Student relations in NITW and hence, here is presenting, "The 1st Annual GJ batch Re-Union". (If u think the title is too heavy, it can be changed. sry abt that :))

The idea is to have a get together every year on a certain date. The date may be flexible but it should signify sumthing. I am thinking may be 2nd weekend of every August. It would be one month between TZ and beginning of classes so that juniors can help with organizing. (I need opinions on this dates by the way). The main purpose of the meeting is to stay in touch and just to party. This will happen every year around the same weekend that we decide now. And the most important thing is that we meet in the insti only!! We have several alumni who have meets outside the insti and hence no1 knows who they r and what they r upto. We dont wanna end up like them obviously!! Our Juniors should know us and whenever we visit the institute, we should have ppl who recognise us. Otherwise we will feel awkward in our own NITW rite?

Also, we need to inculcate this culture into the NITW - Alumni of NITW - system that we have here. A culture of being connected throughout. Just like the IITs or the IIMs. Today we have proved that we can take care of ourselves by fighting corruption single handedly. No institute that i know of could do this. We need to keep the chain linked for decades of batches to avoid such things in the future. And just mailing ppl to stay connected wont work, believe me we have tried. The senior alumni of our insti should see the importance of being connected, through our example. Lets make an example they are both ashamed and proud of at the same time (ashamed in a nice way might i add)

I will need several people to help me in this regard. This is like a fest altogether again. Lets recreate the success that we were when we were in the insti. Repy soon with your queries and suggestions.
