Greetings!
Applications are invited for a position in Discover and Learn 1-2-3-4 project, funded by IRD. The current team has students from Chemical Engineering Department working under Prof. Jyoti Phirani. The project is already underway and concerted efforts can lead to groundbreaking research!
About the project: Methane hydrates represent a potentially huge new source of the cleanest fossil fuel and contain huge amounts of methane in concentrated form. The cost of development of natural gas from hydrate deposits using traditional methods is high and may induce potential environmental hazards. Hence, we aim to develop an alternative model using carbon dioxide injection to extract the maximum amount of gas in an economically feasible way. We are in process of building a 3-D simulator which will be first of its kind and will have high commercial value.
Recruitment profiles:
1. Work will involve basic coding for simulator building. Prior knowledge of coding is recommended but not essential.
2. Students interested in exploring this research area are invited. The experience involves the application of theoretical concepts in solving real-world problems.
Eligibility: Motivated undergraduates from the first, second, and third year from all departments are welcome!
