About Technical Internships:

IRSC believes that roads can be made safer not only by making policy level changes but also having technical innovations in the field of Road Safety. We run various Technical Projects with the help of faculty from IIT's, BITS and industries such as Efkon, LiveMedia etc. wherein students from various technical colleges participate in these projects to develop and create products meant to make roads and transport safer. The technical internships we offer not only involve world-class research at premier research labs of IITs and industries but also provide the interns complete mentor-ship and support during their internship tenure. We try to ensure that at the end of the internship, you feel that the time spent was worth all of it !

The Round 1 of Technical Internships is being floated under the following two categories :

What you need to do in the Internship ?

  • Identify a location that is an area with huge traffic problems/large number of accidents in your hometown.
  • Do a proper analysis of the locality and identify the Road Safety concerns.
  • Submit a report which must have both the problems you identified and a realistic solution to solve the issue.
  • Meet with concerned authorities and discuss the extent of the problem and the feasibility of the solution
  • Get the solution implemented at the ground level with help of the authorities .

Note: This internship has to be done in a team of 2-4 members. For now, the team co-ordinators can register themselves and later all the team details would be asked.

Policy Fellowships:

Policy fellowship is an opportunity for Post Graduate students in the field of Urban Planning, Transport or Traffic Planning/Engineering departments to mentor the policy interns in their ground work and help them in solution formation. This is a work from home program where all the guidance is done online.

The idea behind policy internship and fellowship is to give opportunity to the youth, even if they are not sound on technical aspects of road-safety and civil engineering, to create ground level impact. The policy fellows, having the expertise guide the interns to work in the right direction and thereby solve a major real-life road-safety related problem.
