Actually the US8VGC XC is their new name, they also have a US8VGHC XC. XC batteries are now 170 Ah over the 165 Ah they once were, or so I have been told. There is also supposed to be a new plate design for longer life so we will see.
I will be charging to about 2.4v/cell like Trojan and others recommend. I agrees that the USBattery suggests a much higher charging and in my mind I can see cooking batteries if done all the time. I think they have those to emphasize performance capacity over lifespan.
All my new lugs came in and batteries either tomorrow or Friday so I am pumped! I have to build a new lug crimper but that shouldn't take too long and I need to remove my old battery pack and rack and install the new rack if this rain ever lets up.
