Explore millions of songs in our catalogue with our Deezer desktop app. Simply download the desktop app for your computer so that you can stream music whilst working, playing games or browsing the web. You can access Flow, live radio and all of your favorite podcasts!

This is my first time redesigning a famous interface.
I usually do UI design for clients but I wanted to enjoy my free time with something I often use. In that case, the exercise focused on Deezer's desktop app (beta).

I have a node 2i and I am really happy with it. I have Tidal hifi and Deezer hifi subscriptions. I understand there are icons that are supposed to show the type of file and quality being played but it is not exactly useful since they're just icons and they are too generic.

I use the Android and Windows desktop controllers. I would like to see the exact file type, sample rate, and bit depth for every song being played. If this is already available somehow, can you please explain where I can find it?

If it is not already present, I think this is a really important feature that ought to be added. I have had Tidal hifi for a while but my Deezer hifi account is new. When I use the Deezer desktop app, the sound quality settings don't seem to have any effect according to my Oppo 205 USB DAC. So BluOs could be really helpful in letting us know what we're paying for!

Thank you. I tried it on the Windows desktop app and I do not have Technical Info as one of the context menu items. I have Info, but that only brings up the info about the album being played (history, background, musicians etc.) along with a picture of the cover.

When playing from Tidal, I have Info but not Technical info in the context menu. When playing from Deezer, I don't even have the Info item available, Only Favorite, Add to Playlist, and Delete from Play Queue.

I do not have a context menu beside the tracks in the play queue in Mac OS. I do have a context menu beside the tracks on the iPad, but "Technical Info" is not a choice. How do I access the Technical Info?

With additional investigation, we have discovered the TECHNICAL INFO is only available when you are playing tracks from your Library or Hard Drive. It will NOT work wwhen you are streaming from Tidal. Correct?

Some months later the problem is still there: on the current BlueSound mobile application (on Android, the 7th of April 2020 used with a Bluesound Node 2i), there's no way to display the detailed format information of the music streamed (MP3 128kbps ? MP3 320 kbps ? FLAC 16 bits 1411 kbps ? etc).

For example, for Deezer, an "Hifi" icon is displayed but we don't know if it's just because we have an "Hifi" subscription or because it is really what is streamed, and anyway it is not precise enough.

I just received a Node 2 from Amazon to try out and this is something that I expected to be present. When playing the first song I started looking for the tech information. This is a big miss from BlueSound.

"In our experience most have asked we don't clutter the display..." is not a valid excuse, you guys are outsourcing BlueOS to NAD for $4999 AMP/Streamer and I can't see tech info from an app? C'mon!!!

Also, this feature can be optional with a switch to turn it on or off from the settings

I do not believe the assertion that customers don't want to see the technical specs, that it is considered clutter. But even if that were true, there could be a UI option to show it all the time, or never show it.

I would like to raise the issue again: the official response from Tony W from 3 years ago suggests that we can access technical info for songs from streaming services, but like many here I do not see that option for streamed songs. It's a very basic feature, is there a way to access it?

Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.

I am really disapointed! I just compared my Spotify-Premium with Deezer and came to the conlusion, that the same track sounds ways better on Deezer. Could you please tell me why I'm paying the same price for worse quality?

Agreed. I've been using Spotify premium and Deezer premium+ services playing on Sonos digitally connected to a Cyrus 6 DAC amplifier for three months now. For compressed services the quality on both is excellent, but I have to say that Deezer has the edge.

All of this debate about audio quality between Spotify and Deezer is purely academic. I must admit, I was intrigued to read that Deezer might sound better than Spotify, so downloaded their iOS app to my iPad and iPhone 5 to test it out. It crashes constantly on the iPhone. Therefore I very soon deleted it and realised that, for now at least, I was very happy to continue giving Spotify my tenner a month for a decent iOS streaming service that NEVER crashes. Plus, I stream Spotify via Bluetooth to my fairly decent hi-fi set-up at home - and while this may make audiophiles wince (ie delivering music via the lossy streams of Spotify and the lossy wireless tech that is Bluetooth) the resulting tunes sound perfectly fine to my ears. Then again, I really must make that doc's appointment to get my lugs syringed soon

Also - if people are *that* bothered by audio quality - and they are playing Spotify through a 20k + Linn hi-fi system or whatnot - ummm, JUST BUY THE STUFF ON VINYL OR DOWNLOAD THE STUDIO MASTERS THEN!

Yeah spotify just lost a customer, I dont have an awesome hifi setup, but it is decent in the 5k$ range, and I was kindda content with spotify, love the software and ease of use and for background listening it was ok, overall better than most, but not all youtube songs running through a DAC

I have to agree with the consensus here. Having just been seduced by the deezer half price offer for their premium offering, i've been running both Spotify and deezer back to back through a pair of studio monitors. While I don't think it's as black and white as some have suggested in this thread there is a clear winner in the detail department. Deezer sounds fab and now it's half the price of my spotify premium service it's a no brainer!

I recently got the V20 phone with a Quad DAC. I am comparing Deezer Premium and Spotify Premium through 3 headphones ranging from a 30 Sennheiser set to a 100+ B & O in-ear to a Sennheiser HD 598SE 200 set. In all cases, the quality of Deezer is noticeably better than Spotify. The quality is better - so much more depth to the music.

Deezer is what spotify used to be. I am switching to Deezer. Spotify used to show how much each song is being played. Not anymore. Spotify used to have a playlist that was constantly updated and it was called "the top 100 tracks on spotify. They replaced it with "top hits"...its a list of where they take money from!

the guy who say buy vinyl, nope. i use normal 200$ headphones with an amp, and i was a deezer premium member for 6 months now i switched to spotify, because somehow the deezer web player keep stopping the music all the time and i have to close and open the browser every time it does that, now i switched to spotify because of the pc software that i loved and i am seriously dissapointed how veil the music sound compared to deezer, i clearly notice it on my relativly cheap setup. so no, you don't have to have a 20k+ audio set to notice the differance.

Hi Guys - Bluesound devices running BlueOS version 2.1.4 now have access to lossless streaming from Deezer HiFi. I've been using Deezer for a couple months and believe it's much better than Tidal when it comes to selecting music for me with it's Flow feature.

For the first time, Deezer HiFi subscribers will be able to enjoy millions of songs in lossless CD-quality at 16-bit FLAC and stream it to any BluOS-enabled wireless speaker, stereo component or home theater for a high-fidelity listening experience."

Deezer originally launched its lossless service called Deezer Elite as an exclusive to Sonos. Now that the exclusive is over, we will start seeing more brands launch integrations. The service has also been renamed Deezer HiFi.

Perhaps...I so hooked on EQ/DSP (either Roons or DMG through JRiver) but I am curious I will download the app...I wonder if there is a way to get JRiver to see it through DLNA, is it ASIO enabled, etc. etc.

The 'exclusive' Deezer Elite CD quality lossless FLAC service was also available to Squeezebox devices, via the ickstream LMS plugin's standard Deezer access, as long as you used the same login for your Sonos Deezer Elite subscription.

The desktop app is very very simple - I don't see any user control or indication of what service you are getting - the about simply takes you to your browswer and give you their simple plan management on the web site, which again does not indicate how I can upgrade to the "Hi Fi" service.

Using Windows 10, there does not appear to be any simple way to get bit perfect play to work. The volume mixer clearly shows that my system sounds are still active, but these can be muted or turned down/off in the volume mixer. I don't see anything in the desktop interface for advanced audio settings, but I am not familiar with Deezer except for a short test a few months ago. If there is something obvious that I'm overlooking, please pass it along.

So far just playing artist mixes. I have a 1 gig symmetrical fiber connection to my home, but I've already had a song glitch on me. It was probably just that particular song, as I skipped it and things were right again. It's beta, so I can live with some issues as long as the developers are quick to quash the most egregious annoyances.
