Happy December! It's that time again...

Every February, my uncle hosts a themed benefit party at a bar in south Jersey, which is always a ton of fun and always for a good cause. Many of you have attended in the past and can vouch for both the fun and the goodness, so regardless of what follows everyone should come! The details are below (pretty much same as in the past).

Now, a little insight into this year's benefit:

As many of you know, my older brother, Joey, passed away this past February while undergoing a complicated heart surgery related to a genetic defect. This year's benefit will be in his memory, with all money raised going to Special Olympics (SO).

SO is an awesome organization with a great mission. Every year, it helps people with intellectual disabilities of all ages around the world develop camaraderie, leadership skills, and a sense of accomplishment through athletics. By his involvement in SO, Joey got to be a part of many teams, participating in weightlifting, soccer, track and field, and floor hockey, as well as helping coach a basketball team. He loved competing, but he loved his teammates and coaches--his friends--even more.

Please come help my family and me celebrate Joey's life, while giving back to a wonderful cause. The theme for the party is "Star Trek vs. Star Wars," both of which were dear to Joey.
