The Attorneys fee statements provide more information for the timeline:

April 16, 2009 -

The City Attorney apparently researched 331.001 for the first time
on 4/16/09. On the same date, an e-mail was sent to the City Council regarding the
issues related to 331.001 suggesting all work be stopped until there is clarification. Many
many people had questioned the purchase since September and did not think it
was proper. 3.05 hours charged for research on 4/16/09 plus additional time
conferring with senior partners.

April 20, 2009 --

More attorney research on April 20. Council's Special meeting was 2 hours on
4/20/09. City Attorney and Council would not state the authority they had to buy the property when questioned on this night after the Council meeting.

April 21, 2009 --

Title company was asked via e-mail if they had a cite on why the
City had the right to purchase the land. On this same date, City Attorney
was preparing an opinion to prepare for a title company inquiry on the
issue.

May 4, 2009 --

City Attorney conferred with Bond Attorney regarding Alvin issue.

May 12, 2009 --

Special Agenda meeting with City Attorney discussing open record requests on Alvin contract and park layout designs. That same day, a follow up call between Councilman Barr and City Attorney regarding open record requests.

May 19, 2009 --

City Attorney bills time for discussion with other attorneys
regarding "council decision to continue to pursue property."

May 22, 2009 --

Lawsuit filed.

June 1, 2009 --

City Council meeting where Council failed to disclose suit was filed. Council approved retroactive resolution to approve filing of petition. Uncertain when Council approved attorneys filing of suit especially with respect to the Alvin issues.

June 2, 2009 --

City Attorney calls Bond Counsel regarding Park Issue.
Friendswood Journal did a lengthy article on June 1 meeting which was posted on June 2, 2009.

June 3, 2009 --
City Attorney talking to bond counsel with specific reference to
news article.

June 9, 2009 - City Attorney drafts talking points for Town Hall meeting for
Mayor but Mayor didn't give any talking points. Leslie Reid gave the
majority of the discussion on the process during the opening remarks.

June 23, 2009 --

Conferences regarding AG's opposition to bond request.
