SPECIAL EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Social Committee is looking for resident musicians to perform
during the CityView summer party on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Any
resident interested volunteering his/her instrumental or vocal talents
is encouraged to contact committee chair Paula Jones at 484-680-1143
or pmjes...@netzero.net. In addition, the Social Committee is
looking for someone to lend a Karaoke machine for the event. If
anyone has Karaoke equipment to share for the evening, please contact
Paula Jones.

The annual summer party will be held from 7-10 p.m. in the courtyard
and garden room. There will be food and refreshments provided by
local businesses including City View Pizza, Feders Fresh Produce,
McCrossen's Tavern, The Rose Tattoo Café, and Sabrina's Café.
Admission is either $5 cash or $5 worth of school supplies, which
will be donated to the Laura W. Waring School, a K-6 public school
located at 1801 Green Street.

A new “sports bar” style restaurant is set to open in the former NoVi
Restaurant space as early as Tuesday, August 17, according to co-owner
Victor Fellus. “Pub 'n' Grub” will serve casual fare such as pizza,
burgers, and salads. Renovations include fifteen televisions, a pool
table, and an outdoor deck. The restaurant is co-owned by Fellus, who
also owns Mix Brick Oven Pizza & Bar at 2101 Chestnut Street, and John
Francowski. The restaurant will open daily for lunch and dinner. For

On Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 6:30 p.m., at The Granary, 411 N 20th
Street, Pearl Properties will present its revised proposal to
redevelop the property. The revised proposal excludes Pearl
Properties' previous plan for new construction on top of the existing
building. Under the revised proposal, new construction will not exceed
the height of the existing building. The presentation is open to all.

As of August 1, 2010, Philadelphia's recycling collection service
accepts plastics marked numbers 1-7. Philadelphia previously accepted
only plastics #1 (examples include soda and water bottles) and #2
(examples include milk jugs and detergent and shampoo bottles).
Examples of the newly-accepted plastics include: rigid plastic
containers and juice bottles (#3); plastic tubs and lids from butter,
margarine or similar products (#4); yogurt containers and deli trays
(#5); plastic cups, plates and to-go containers (#6); and many mixed
plastic containers and plastic products (#7). For more information,

The North Tower’s roof-top HVAC cooling tower is scheduled to be
replaced during the evening hours of Saturday, August 28, 2010. The
cooling tower services the HVAC system for the North Tower common
areas and Enclave units. The common areas and Enclave units will be
without air conditioning for about 24 hours during the replacement

The next District 9 Philadelphia Police Service Area (PSA) 2 Community
Meeting is Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 7 p.m., at District 9

NOTICES & REMINDERS

To encourage North Tower residents to have their HVAC systems serviced
regularly, CityView has contracted with West Chester Mechanical to
provide preventative HVAC maintenance to North Tower residents for
$87.00 per visit. To learn more and schedule a visit, please contact

An electric sub-metering system is scheduled to be installed in the
North Tower in or about August 2010. A six-month trial period will
begin in or about September 2010. During the trial period, residents
will receive sample bills and be able monitor their individual usage,
while continuing to pay for electricity through association fees.
Individual billing will begin following the trial period.

The North and South Tower boards jointly have hired the structural
engineering firm of Joseph B. Callaghan to investigate and advise the
boards on the repair of the parking garage. The parking garage needs
repairs to address various problems including structure damage and
leaks. The engineering firm is expected to issue a report to the
boards by October.

The South Tower Board has hired MPP Engineers to manage the
replacement of the South Tower roof. Work on the roof is expected to
begin in late Fall of 2010.

Residents interested in applying for rebates through the PECO Smart
Equipment Incentives program are invited to pick up applications in
the Management office. The program provides incentives for energy-
efficient improvements and equipment upgrades. The Management office
has applications specifically for residents of multi-tenant properties
