DOTI Travel Advisory
Denver – Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) would like the public to be aware of upcoming improvements to public infrastructure, making it better and more resilient. Teams are working to get this critical work completed while coordinating around various events and festivals.
East Colfax Ave. Street Paving Paving operations are set to begin this week on East Colfax Avenue, lasting into August, to provide a smooth roadway surface in Segments 1 and 2 from Broadway to Albion.
Crews will start tomorrow on the segment from Sherman to Humboldt streets. First, crews will use a mill to remove the old asphalt, then a paver to lay down a new surface; milling and paving in this section will take about three days each, weather permitting.
Drivers will use the outer travel lane while crews are milling/paving the center lane and use the center travel lane when crews are milling/paving the outer lane.
Crews will begin at Sherman Street and work east toward Humboldt Street. Once complete, they will reverse direction and continue west from Humboldt Street back to Sherman Street.
People may experience temporary travel impacts and delays at side streets, alleys, parking lots, and sidewalks when crews are working. Short delays for pedestrians and vehicles are possible as equipment moves through work areas. Paving schedule updates will be provided at www.denvergov.org/ColfaxBRT as crews move further down the corridor.
Storm System Improvements at Colfax and Broadway DOTI is replacing a section of stormwater infrastructure to enable future pipe rehabilitation projects in the area of Colfax and Broadway. The work will start this Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m. and continue until Monday, April 27, at 5 a.m. The work will require the closure of two eastbound lanes of Colfax Avenue between Cherokee and Lincoln streets; eastbound traffic on Colfax Avenue will be restricted to a single righthand lane.
Two lanes on southbound Broadway will also be closed to support this work. The far righthand lane will close for the entire weekend, while the far lefthand lane is expected to reopen midday on Saturday, April 25.
Concrete work in the area of Lincoln/Broadway/20th Street A contractor for DOTI will be replacing concrete panels in the area of Lincoln St, 20th St. and Broadway starting this Friday, April 24 through Thursday, April 30. Drivers should consider alternate routes or plan for extra time.
For this work to occur, drivers will experience: · lane closures on Lincoln Street as they approach 20th Street, going from four lanes down to two lanes on Lincoln St.
· lane closures on 20th Street between Lincoln and Broadway, going from four lanes down to one lane on 20th St.
· lane closures on Broadway north of and on the approach to 20th St. There will be one lane that remains open in both directions on Broadway.
DOTI appreciates the public’s patience as this work is underway.
