Hello,

Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure, in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Transportation and contract partner, Hamon Infrastructure, have reopened Santa Fe Drive between Florida Avenue and Evans Avenue.

The closure that started Saturday morning, July 11, and that was expected to run through 5 a.m. tomorrow was required for the safe installation of two 180-foot bridge spans over Santa Fe Drive for the new
West Jewell Avenue Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge that’s expected to open in Q1 2027.

The West Jewell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Bridge was funded by the voter-approved Elevate Denver Bond. When complete, it will provide a safe way for people to walk, bike, and roll across Santa Fe Dr. and a more comfortable alternative to using Evans Avenue, which is a busy corridor for cars. The 30-foot-high, 12-foot-wide structure will connect neighborhoods east and west of Santa Fe Drive and provide a new and convenient way to access light rail at the RTD Evans Station.

A reminder that the southbound Santa Fe Drive off-ramp to West Evans Avenue will remain closed until Sept. 11, with detour routes posted.

Sincerely,

Nancy
