Just a thought...
What if someone with the City of Denver created Google Groups to align with the Neighborhood Planning Initiative?
Those Google Groups could then be added to the RNO Contact list allowing anyone to email them.

There could be one "City-wide" group when the content applies to all Denverites. When it is local, then it is sent to the respective Neighborhood Planning Area.

These will look similar to the group I created for Congress Park for ALL.

I think it is just a piece of the puzzle for helping information get relayed from the City Agencies to the general public, since many RNOs don't seem to share beyond their membership.
I suggested making a crowd-sourced option on Reddit.

Happy to walk someone through what I've learned to prevent spam & permit messages from approved senders right away. Other RNOs can do this as well & I'm happy to share my set-up with you to help you get started.

Here is a sample I created for ALL of the City of Denver.

Feel free to join to see what you think.

Hello RNO contacts,

You are receiving this message because your organization has not submitted a renewal form for 2026. All RNOs are required to renew their registration every year in order to remain registered in good standing with the City and County of Denver. The deadline to submit your renewal is Saturday, January 31.

The form to renew is available at www.DenverGov.org/RNO.

If you have any questions or believe you have received this message in error, please reach out. Best, Alex

Hello again,

I also created smaller Google Groups to align with the Neighborhood Planning Initiative.

Anyone is welcome to join their respective Neighborhood Planning Area to get updates relevant to their local area.
Downtown Denver
- West Area

I'm still getting them organized, if anyone is interested in helping out, especially those with Google Groups knowledge & experience.

Thanks in advance!

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Bryan,

The map and RNO list is not an email list to which other emails can just be added. The website lists registered neighborhood organizations that have gone through the registration process and meet the eligibility requirements.

Requesting that these groups be added as "Coalitions of RNOs" listed at DenverGov.org/RNO. The respective email addresses are as follows: cityofdenver@googlegroups.com downtown-denver@googlegroups.com east-central-denver@googlegroups.com

Thank you for your response, Alex.

Councilmembers Kashmann & Gonzales-Gutierrez, I feel that this is something that needs to be addressed in the legislation recommendations.

The "eligibility requirements" don't hold the RNOs accountable in any way for sharing I formation with the community that is sent to them.
Furthermore, there is no recourse for when those same RNOs don't allow members to participate by running for the Board of Directors.

The system is broken.

I created the Google Groups to at least bridge the communication gap & request for them to be added or at least have someone relay information to them. Could someone please make that happen until the recommendations are made & the legislation passed?

If not, maybe a few RNOs in each area will take the lead on this & volunteer to register the Coalitions.

Thank you all in advance for your help!

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Also, to follow-up...
I'm essentially asking for the "Neighborhood Planning Areas" to be added to the RNO Map in the same way the City Council Districts are listed.
Screenshot 2026-01-08 110213.png
The Google Group URLs & email addresses can then be listed in the description. For example:
- East Central Area
- Contact: Alexandra Foster
- Email: east-cent...@googlegroups.com
- Website: https://groups.google.com/g/east-central-denver

The website for the Neighborhood Planning Initiative can then be listed in the description for each Google Group. I guess I don't see why this would be an issue & would help make more of the City aware of the Neighborhood Planning Initiative. I'll even make someone at the City of Denver owner of the groups.

Happy to explain in more detail to anyone interested.

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson
