This is another example of information that should be getting shared broadly, but I'm unable to do that.

Every topic in that link that you provided.

If it asks for a first name, please just put in something generic like Denver or Denverites.

Thank you in advance for your help!

It would be nice if other groups or agencies were as cooperative.

Thanks again,
Bryan

Thank you for your suggestion, but I don't work for the City of Denver.

This is something that needs corrected City-wide, & maybe the Your City, Your Voice team can help be part of the solution.

I would recommend forwarding our email to the Google Group and inviting people to subscribe their personal emails to receive additional updates from us. I understand that this isn't ideal, but it's probably the best way to get info to this broader group.

Please let me know if there is anything else you need!

If you're not aware, I used to lead a Registered Neighborhood Organization.
The primary email for that Org was CongressP...@googlegroups.com & emails seemed to be directed there just fine...

Are you not required to send emails out to RNOs?
If you do, how do you send emails to RNOs that use Google Groups?

I don't see this as any different.

Hi Bryan,

Not every agency uses MailChimp as their newsletter platform, nor does every email get sent from this platform. So there are certainly many instances in which it would be possible for Google Groups to receive email from city entities with no issue. However, when I tried to subscribe your Google Group to our newsletter list, I was not able to do so on the MailChimp platform. There isn't much I or the city can do about that. It is a third-party tool we use to send newsletters.

This is why I suggested forwarding newsletters that you receive to the Google Group if you want that group to get the information we send. From there, the people in the Google Group can subscribe to receive emails from us. I am not able to forward the newsletter to the Google Group for the same reason I can't subscribe it to our newsletter (I don't have permission from every person in that group to send them marketing emails). As a private citizen, you are allowed to share information with whomever you like.

I'm sorry I don't have a better solution to this problem.

Best,
Emily

Agay, how would this be shared with an RNO that utilizes Google Groups, or do you not send this information to RNOs?

The whole point of a Google Group is to eliminate the need to forward every single email & allow anyone in the group to get the information & then help to share it to various social media platforms.

Maybe MailChimp needs to be replaced by something different.
