Hello,

Thank you for the reminder!
I've shared it on Nextdoor & in r/DenverCivics.

Questions that I feel still haven't been answered...

- Will we be installing sidewalks set-back from the roadway in neighborhoods with Hollywood sidewalks?
Doing so would create space for a tree lawn & the ability to plant street trees. If we are going to do that, then we need to stop planting trees in the path of the future sidewalks. We also need to communicate this to anyone redeveloping a property so that those sidewalks are installed set-back from the street as well.

- Are we going to be working to meet the minimum sidewalk widths in the City of Denver's Complete Streets Guidelines?

For example, a street like Colfax should be getting a minimum sidewalk width of 8ft.

These should have matching ramp widths as well.

Thank you in advance for getting addressing these questions.

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Sidewalk Implementation Plan:

Survey closes Sunday, March 22 — submit your sidewalk priorities now!

Denver’s Sidewalk Implementation Plan will answer the questions of where, when and how the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) ‘s Sidewalk Program will build a complete sidewalk network for all Denverites.

Learn about the current state of Denver's sidewalk & take your survey!

Thank you to the 900+ people who have already taken the time to review the State of the System Report and fill out our online survey! The State of the System Report outlines the evolution of Denver’s sidewalks and the current state of Denver’s sidewalk network. The survey will close Sunday, March 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Recordings of the Feb. 11 Zoom Webinar in English and Spanish, which include a deeper dive into the Sidewalk Implementation Plan and State of the System Report, are available on our webpage and DOTI’s YouTube account.

What’s next?

While Denverites are providing their input on our survey, the project team is looking ahead to the next stage of the project which includes developing conceptual designs and cost estimates. This work will help the Sidewalk Program better understand the conditions the city is likely to face when building out the sidewalk network (e.g., available space in the public right-of-way, impacts to stormwater drainage, conflicts with utility poles, etc.). Understanding where these different conditions exist and estimating the cost to address them, allows the city to more accurately estimate the scale and cost of all improvements needed across Denver. After this first phase of outreach, the project team will reach out to you again in the spring of 2026 for feedback how the program will phase and stage its work moving forward.

Follow-up question...

Who is responsible for the connection from the sidewalk to RTD Bus Stops?

These seem to be falling through the gaps.

Thank you,

Hello again,

Asking if sidewalks are going to be installed set back from busy roadways with the minimum widths as outlined in the city of Denver's, complete streets design guidelines.

Here are examples along Hale Parkway.

I feel this is extremely important for our vision, zero and climate action goals, so it is urgent for the Denver deserves sidewalks, initiative and future sidewalks being installed with redevelopments.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson
