Hey, so Marc hit me yesterday to give me the news about Fundrise. While they want to stick with real estate related projects, they still really like our project and want to introduce us to the folks over at LocalStake and get the ball rolling ASAP with them!

So check out the site if you hadn't before and let me know your thoughts. Marc is still completely down with helping us by putting it on his website and Amanda is gun-ho about getting the bloggers and media behind us when we're ready to launch...in addition to Jeremiah.

We could be the first in Detroit to launch on this platform, so it could still work to our benefit with support from LocalStake as well. They also are operating their platform to the benefit of the Michigan Crowdfunding law as well. We need to determined the amount we want to shoot for. As will kickstarter, if you don't make the goal, you don't get the funds.

i don't want to through a monkey wrench in this but there could be an alternative/additional plan to consider that could possibly make fundraising easier:

consider a small batch sake brewery =>
*then you're selling sake, sauce, potential social connections & sushi
*alcohol does well in just about any economy, esp. when it goes south
*current U.S. breweries are found in Austin, Asheville, Minneapolis, etc.
*$13-14 for a 750 ml bottle
*Sakeone in Portland, OR is probably the best right now:
