Hi Martin,
1.Monetization will depend on the number of advertisers the metro you're building in has, what categories of traffic you're serving (health & beauty, automative, restaurants, etc.) and especially the quality of the traffic you have (how engaged
are your users – are they calling businesses they view, clicking to see a menu/list of services, get directions, etc.).
2. Wordpress - there is a plug-in available. Many publishers have found the plug-in to be useful but just a heads up that its unsupported.
3. SEO – The content will not be regarded as unique. You are required to attribute content to the source – the name and the url it should link back to are provided. This includes reviews, images and, if you are certified for monetization, advertiser
content which may come from one of many of our partners. If you're building a site with local content it is important however that the business data is consistent with other sites and our APIs can help with this. Sites with inconsistent contact information
for a business may show up lower, as search engines aren't as confident the information is accurate.
Thanks,
Mariena
I'm looking into using Citygrid data for a business directory for a metro area in the US.
Is there a Wordpress plug in to create directory pages for various categories of business?
It seems monetization is supported by Citygrid--roughly how much to people make per impression?
Will this be regarded as unique content by Google and help get my site indexed?
I would appreciate any comments people have.
thanks
