In Madison.

Permaculturist, Kate Heiber-Cobb of
Sustainability On Stilts, LLC &
Founder of the Madison Area Permaculture Guild
offers a Swale & Berm Workshop
at Community Groundworks.
Swales and berms harvest rainwater by pooling and slowing the water on
its downhill course,
giving it time and space to soak into the soil.
On 31-acres of urban property, Troy Gardens integrates mixed-income
green-built housing,
community gardens, an organic farm, and restored prairie and
woodlands.
Saturday, May 8th
8:30 am until 12:30 pm
$25 per person
We will meet in the Youth Garden at Troy Gardens.
Car: If you are coming from the East, take Sherman Ave. to Northport
Drive (or come in from Packers) and turn left. Follow Northport Dr.
past Warner Park which will be on your left. Turn left onto Troy Drive
at the light at the Shell Gas Station. Go several blocks until you
pass under the railroad bridge. Troy Gardens is right beyond this on
the right.
Learn how to easily hold water on your property, how to use an A-Frame
Level, how to measure contour of the land and more. We will be
creating this project to help ease erosion near the Troy Community
Gardens. Bring shovel, mattock, gloves, drinking water, and dress for
weather.
Please mail a check made out to
Sustainability On Stilts, LLC
5310 Winnequah Rd., Monona, WI 53716.
